We went in January 2019 to Clos de los Siete. It is a collection of seven (siete) vineyards that was the brainchild of a prominent French winemaker, Michel Rolland, who partnered with seven Bordeaux families to create this unique wine making project.

Spectacular setting and excellent wines. We visited two of the seven and were not disappointed.

Highly recommended.

We've been there for the second time. The first one we did a wine tasting in Cuvelier de Los Andes many years ago with Adrián Manchón himself. That was an experience. This time, we did the regular wine tasting touristic premium package. That one was very, very poor experience. Details below:

The place. Huge, amazing, beautiful, impressive. They have 5 wineries in the same complex all with different architecture. You can have your wine looking to the Andes and miles and miles of vines. We visited Monteviejo where we had the amazing Octava Alta.
The problem was the tasting in Diamandes. We purchased the “super premium tasting tour” and paid USD 75,00 per person to taste 5 wines. With this name and price I was expecting something out of the ordinary, almost a religious experience. Well the tasting presentation was just ok, but the wines choice was disastrous….. they even served us the regular Clos de los siete, a nice wine, but definitively not a premium. The only one we had I can call it for amost that name was the Cuvelier gran Malbec. This tasting was a disappointment. It really was a USD 15,00 tasting, very overpriced. As a idea we had the premium tasting at the marvelous Achavel-Ferrer, drank 3 of their 4 best wines for USD 15,00

Conclusion, Very nice place to visit, had some quality time and wine, but run like the plague from their touristic trap “Premium tastings”.

Some of Argentina's best kept secrets come from the Mendoza region and we were happy to sample some of them first hand. It's no wonder the wines from the Uco Valley are so amazing as the grapes overlook the impressive snow capped Andes mountains (and all that sunshine doesn't hurt).

The Clos de los Siete project involves a group of four wineries, all run by families originating from France. We arranged a private tasting at the Bodega Cuvelier de los Andes followed by a late afternoon lunch at Bodega Monteviejo. The tasting fee at Cuvelier de los Andes was much too expensive (and there is no credit if you buy wine) but we were genuinely impressed with the wines and found the tour very informative and unpretentious. During lunch, our server at Monteviejo took great care of us and all of the food and wine paring was spot on. A great way to explore wines and get a taste of some beautiful scenery. If you're going, you'll need to make reservations.

I spent a full month planning all of my wineries for Mendoza and the Uco Valley. I planned to visit the Clos on Monday, Feb. 27th at 12:00. They canceled on me less than two days before (!!!), stating that there was now a private group coming and they could no longer accomodate me. I find this outrageous and unacceptable!!! Based on the exchange of e-mails, it is clear that they could not care about a single traveler - the response would have been different if I had been part of a group.

We read the bad reviews and thought they were exaggerated. They are not.

With confirmed reservations, we drove the two hours to Clos de los 7. Had car trouble, so we got there approximately 15 minutes late. They refused to take us, even when we offered to pay extra and cut the visit/tour short by the 10-15 minutes.

We will not return.

Some good wines, however, their hospitality and tourism is extremely poor. Been disappointed twice, they can not get their act together to cater international travelers and even sale their wines to them.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! There are lots of wineries in Mendoza, we chose this one as it is one of the most famous ones. I truly wish we would have picked a different one as they don't deserve a single peso for their awful customer service. We paid the standard ticket to see only of the 7 wineries of the group. It wasn't at all the best one and our tour guide explained everything in a very quick and unplesant way. We didn't get to access any of the rooms, we everything only from the glass windows while the guide was explaining things. At the end of the quick tour of the first winery we expected to go to the second one which we hoped would be more interesting but our guide said that the tour had ended and left without leaving us the opportunity to make a claim. All they cared for was letting us know to stop by the shop on the way out to buy their wine. Well of course we did NOT buy Anything and left.

Nearly everyone that we asked about the Uco Valley told us that we should come see these wineries. To be clear, there are five wineries, all French owned. We were supposed to tour two of the wineries. When we went to the first one, the entranced was locked and the our guide couldn't figure out how to get us in, so we skipped it. The second winery was beautiful, but nothing special about either how they make their wine. It was at this winery that we tasted four $8 wines. I'm not sure why they served all entry level wines. It would have been cheaper for us to go to the grocery store and boughten the bottles our selves. Don't get me wrong, they were fine $8 wines, but I didn't travel 12 hours on a plane and then 2 hours from Mendoza to taste entry level wines. When we were finished at the second winery, we went back to the reception area. Again, our tour guide was locked out and couldn't figure out how to get in. Yet, she still asked us for our money. At that point, we just wanted to get out of there, so we paid and left.

Clos de los 7 offers an intense three hour visit of four of their estates, with detailed explanations on wine making, growing, philosophies, etc. A mind blowing and at times, overwhelmingly informative tour. All four of us have visited many wineries in different countries, and this, by far, was the best ever. And then, came the wines! All excellent and all affordable. Looking forward to next vintage arrival of their estate wines in Canada!

The somelier there was fantastic along with the great wines we tried. My daughter fell in love with the Petit Fleur- now her favorite wine! Each of the wineries we visited had amazing facilities and the entire wine process was fascinating!
