The House of the Somme Bay is a museum that presents the evolution of the Bay of 2 millennia and the various challenges it faces ( siltation , erosion) . You will also discover all the natural environments of the Picardy coast and birds that live there in striking reproduction of realism. One room is dedicated to the presence of seals in the bay . Finally, an external path allows you to better understand the wetlands. On site picnic area , local shop , observation post , coffee machine .

Very fine place, where there is an interesting exhibition regarding birds, fauna, flora and landscape of Somme Bay.
Furthermore, we did guided tours, which allowed us to see many small birds, duckks, migratory birds, and also to discover plants and flowers.

Excellent insight into wildlife in the Baie de Somme
Aug 2020
A gem of a place for people interested in wildlife. Excellent exhibits of all kinds of birds that frequent the area at different times of the year and in its diverse habitats. Also provide details of the history of the bay and its human inhabitants.

Informative Information Board
Sep 2019
Interesting place to visit. Beautiful place with various gift items but for a person who speak very little French, it is not that interesting. There is only a couple of bird books with English titles and not much information from the staff if you are not a French speaker. However, I found the information board much more informative and helpful than the staff. Thanks a lot for the Information Board!

There are few birds species more welcoming than the people working there!

A charming place, with some interesting excibets. However, not very interactive. A lot more could be multi-lingual.

Better than expected, great thing to do when it is raining
Aug 2016 • Family
Very well done attraction for small kids and adults. You get a lot of info on birds living in the region and also about animal life in general. You end with a video trying to catch your attention on the possible dangers threatening the Baie de Somme.
Better than expected and instructive. You can also do a small walking round outside.
Highly recommended.

Small but well presented
May 2016 • Family
Not very big, but well presented, especially the champions room ( the biggest and the smallest bird, the oldest and the strangest bird, etc.). Also some live specimens in the external part, along with some frogs, allow you to spend some nice time observing them.

Great nature experience for children & adults
May 2016 • Family
Entering the domain, you can you immediately watch a bird island, full of gulls, at the right side. When you enter the building you first arrive in the gift shop which is the beginning and end of the "tour".
First part of the exhibition shows all kind of different birds in the usual habitat (sea, swamp, .....) and also some contrasts are shown (biggest bird versus smalles bird).
You can go outside and spot different birds (most of them ducks) in the pond.
Great project for children but also for adults.

This is worth the visit if you are interested in birds and nature. It explains also the evolution of the Baie de Somme. There is a beautiful collection of Naturalized birds. They organising also walk in the Baie de Somme.

Probably better in summer
Nov 2014 • Couples
We had the place to ourselves one November afternoon, which, together with the autumnal weather, gave a certain end-of-the-world feeling. There is much to commend here; in addition to being a wildlife sanctuary, a good attempt is made at being an educational facility, though it helps if you speak French. The ancillary facilities are disappointing, notably the absence of a café, especially as this is in the middle of nowhere.

Bit sparse in November
Nov 2013 • Couples
Facilities were really good with lots of bird hides and information on Birds but obviously November not the best time to visit. We saw one Swan on the lake and that was it.
