Good find

Actually not the place we were looking for but glad we found it. Great views and location. We took the hard route up the mountain there are easier routes. Very interesting place well restored. Sadly we did not take the English tour but no problem. Makes for an interesting read. Lot to see. Would go again

Beautiful scenery

This old castle is located on top of a mountain and with Nice weather you have a wonderfull view of the area.
Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee with a guided tour that was very helpfull. Our guide was a Nice chap and know a lot about the history of the castle.

Go if you possibly can

A wonderful day. The scenery on the drive there was wonderful and the place it's self is wonderful. Very pretty and very tranquil. I recommend taking a picnic lunch and just taking your time.

Nice but not a 'must seen'
Mar 2018 • Friends
You need a car to go there or you have to be auf really tough cyclist (up to 18%! rise). But the view is from up there is amazing.

The castle itself is nice, but you have to follow auf guided tour. They start at 10:30 (Spanish) and at 1pm (Catalan) and take about 1 1/2 hours. The entrance fee is 5,50 Euro for adults (reduceded tickets are also available). You can pay by credit card.

We were glad, that our kids didn't join us. I'm quit sure, that they wouldn't enjoy the trip.

Lovely views

After a slightly nerve wracking drive up the mountain we arrived at the top and it was well worth it. Lovely views. The kids were tired and moaning so we didn't pay to get into the monastery but enjoyed the walk around.
Coming down we used a larger road that we should have used on the way up. Heading from Riudecanyes I think you'd come on the best road.

Great views and nice drive up

Great views from this monestery/castle and it looks like there were some signposted walks from the car park. Building itself looked closed up when we were there so it wasn't obvious that there were guided tours.

A hidden gem

The journey to the castle is well worth it, stunning scenery and views to the coast. Once there, take one of the timed guided tours, they do English, which was great and our guide was friendly and helpful. The inside was not what I was expecting, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Also excellent value to get in, superb value for money and a great way to spend an hour. Being local, will definitely return with guests in the near future. A hidden gem, only downside, no drinking or snack facilities.

what a wonderful surprise!

This castle/monastery is a well kept secret. The site has been used on and off for hundreds of years as church, monastery, castle, etc. They offer a guided tour included in the entry price -- available every hour on the half hour. Our guide had very poor English but we had a Spanish speaker translating for us. The tour is marvelous - going through the interior of the castle/monastery and seeing how a well-to-do man lived in the early 1900s at this site. I think that even without the translator, we would have enjoyed it. Unlike many such places, all the furniture and accessories were his and not moved in from other places. The view was also breathtaking.

If you have the time and energy, there are many walking trails in different directions from the castle mount.

What a little gem! Views to take your breath away and a great property to look at too National trust/English Heritage lovers would love the place. Very reasonably priced but you need a car or you need to be an Olympic cyclist to get there!!
