This four-room museum houses artifacts, mostly cannons, and many informative images and explanations (in Spanish) related to the Spanish manufacturing of artillery in the time of the Spanish empire, in the 16th through 18th centuries. Cannons built in La Cavada were used by Spaniards throughout the world; a number of them found their resting place in the Americas all the way from the gigantic artillery factory in the town of La Cavada.
The knowledgeable volunteer guide who was there the day of our visit eloquently explained the evolution of the manufacturing processes, etc.
Beware, however, everything in the museum is in Spanish.

This small museum located in La Cavada village guards one of the Spanish history less known episodes .It is the story of the best cannons factory in XVII Europe and the weapons leadership that allowed Spain to rule the waves and the greatest empire
The museum not only explains the history of the factory ,it shows how a significant part of the village is the result of the transformation of the factory buildings into private houses
If you want to have a fuller experience , you can visit the museum on the 3rd saturday of august, when the Fiesta del Cañon takes place and one of the ancient cannons , whose companions you can find from Philipines to Argentina or to USA, is fired.Have you ever heard the blast of a XVII century cannon ?
