Lovely tiny church in the countryside. Some legends said that was the church of Carlo Magno. Too bad that the church is located near a shopping center and a kind of car track.

Spectacular abbey that just by looking at it makes you feel like you are in the Middle Ages. In Romanesque style it therefore does not present particular architectural riches but is decidedly interesting; The history of the structure is also explained on the women's gallery. Unmissable if passing through. The visit will take a maximum of 30/40 minutes. The women's gallery is accessed via one of the towers visible from the facade.

It is a beautiful abbey in Romanesque style, arranged on two floors. Upstairs there is a small museum with some interesting information. The church is a bit bare internally but a great choice for a wedding.

On the wave of positive reviews we left for this abbey doing an hour of road ..
We were disappointed that the church (we went in opening hours following the official directions) can only be visited on the ground floor and climb a few steps of the right side tower that however leads nowhere as at the top of the staircase there is a sign announcing work in progress.
In a chapel (used as a closet) side of the tower 'visitable', making its way between buckets, brooms and boxes, you can read a plaque in Latin that refers to Charlemagne, but I repeat, the chapel is used as a warehouse of cleaning products.
After taking an outside tour and uselessly climbing the stairs to see the upstairs (closed) we returned to the coast with the pive in the bag.

THE ABBEY is SPECTACULAR, OUTSIDE AND INSIDE, it already stands out from afar.
Rich in history, it is interesting and exciting especially for the studies of Don Carnevale, a bold and scrupulous scholar: his hypothesis is revolutionary, definitely supported by serious research! All explained with passion by the scholar Gobbi

It is a very particular structure, double on two levels, two real overlapping churches. Its evolution is not clear, there are different theses but the church is "occupied" by a study group which proposes one which appears imaginative (also because they do not propose any real supporting documentation). Unfortunately this "study center" does nothing but steal space and attention from the beauty of the church itself. In short, instead of promoting their theses, they simply undermine the enjoyment of the good.

The grandeur of this structure strikes the visitor at first glance. It is certainly a Romanesque church that is divided into two environments, one upper and the other lower, giving a feeling of space that in my opinion is not very conducive to concentration in prayer. In fact, the environment appears cold but still a place of great architectural and artistic prestige
