Take the Paradise train ($15 return) from the Dockyards to Daniel's Head Beach Park (or drive yourself). Beautiful, quiet beaches with restaurant/bar (Suds) and beach rentals (SurfsUp - chairs/umbrellas etc).

Took the NCL Breakaway ship to Bermuda. Got off the ship bought a two day bus and ferry pass in the terminal. Walked a short distance to the bus stop and asked the driver if he went to Daniel's Head Beach (the old 9 Beaches resort). Bus driver advised me where I should get off and told me to walk down the road (8-10 minute walk) and there was the Beach.

It is laid back with very few people. Snorkeling was great. Exploring was great. Surfsup people were great. They have food, beer, soft drinks, water, a bathroom and a shower. Very kind people. I had the Kick but chicken and pork sandwich and the Wahoo grilled fish. Prices are great for Bermuda. They have chairs, umbrellas, etc. to rent. Spend the day or a few hours and you can't go wrong.

Compare this to Horseshoe Bay and it like night and day. Horseshoe Bay Beach is so tight you can't put a pin between you and your new friend on the Beach. Horseshoe Beach is nice, but TOO MANY people.

Another thing, if you are disabled in a chair you may want to think of Daniel's Head Beach as it is much easier to get around than Horseshoe Beach. I suppose if you were a movie star this would be the Beach. Don't do what everyone does do something different--try this Beach--guess what if you don't like it go somewhere else. Finally, this place is great for kids as you can actually see them and they will not be lost in the sea of people. The waters are very safe here as well.

The 4-stars are not for the beauty of this beach. There are, by far, numerous other beaches with better sand and surf. However, this is a great beach for water activities. You can snorkel, paddle board, hydro bike, kayak, etc. The water is shallow and calm so good for small children. I would definitely recommend water shoes - sharp rocks and lots of sea grass. Also, the water shoes may come in handy for water activities. We used the hydro bikes and my son got a blister from the plastic straps rubbing on his foot. I had my waters hopes on and was fine. The folks who run the rentals are pleasant and helpful.
There is a snack bar with burgers and hotdogs all cooked on a charcoal grill. The wait for a chicken breast sandwich and hotdog was a bit long but both tasted good and it was a real chicken breast. You can also get snowballs to cool down after being in the sun.

Hi,

Allow me start this review by saying that Bermuda is so so beautiful.
This review is based on the our third trip to Bermuda in the last four years. When we visit Bermuda, we rent scooters and travel all over and one day we came upon this little gem of a beach, and every time, until this visit we have enjoyed the quiet, peaceful beach at Daniel's head / 9 beaches

Now for the BAD, we must all not forget that there are two beaches here, first being the Daniel's head park and the beach belonging to the abandoned 9 Beaches resort. very fine line between the two. First time we visited this beach a local couple explained the whole story behind why the 9 Beaches resort is abandoned, and when we first enjoyed the two beaches at this location it was GREAT WOW. What happened this time, August 3rd upon arriving at the beach and what we found made us leave the area.

When we arrived we met other beach lovers who were upset that nothing as advertised about this area was true.
Sursup was not opened, the restaurant was not opened, the bathrooms were not opened,No WIFI (but who needs WIFI when on vacation ?)etc.. nothing opened.

We explained to the others the area and etc..and while explaining more people were arriving and all were disappointed, until a local citizen arrived at Daniel's head park and called the owner of the restaurant to come and open up.

The restaurant owner finally did arrive and at least was able to sell some stuff, and he happened to have the key to the washrooms.

Now the smell, remember this is a abandoned resort and just behind where you sit on this beautiful fantastic beach is a small yellow building that is the washrooms. The last thing you wish to smell while tanning on the beach is septic overflow smell, now they have not cleaned out the septic tanks in years, so the smell was overwhelming. So needless to say we left on our scooter and never went back, a real shame.

Now the other people who arrived, well they got dropped off by taxi, bus etc.. and were stuck to stay or take the long walk back to the main road.

All I am requesting is, if you advertise something to bring people to enjoy the area of Daniel's head park / 9 beaches, at least what you advertise be true.

So before you go to this area make sure everything is opened before your taxi leaves.

SO DISAPPOINTED FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BEACH.

I've have been to Bermuda twice now, and I absolutely love love love it here. It is so amazingly breathtaking!!! I have been to several of the beaches here horseshoe bay, tobacco bay, and jobsons cove. They were all beautiful in there own way. This time we decided to try Daniels head due to all the great reviews. PLEASE BEWARE, first of all it's a 800 meter hike from the bus just to get to the beach. I don't mind walking but, on a 86 degree day with no shade and a beach bag it's no fun walk. When we finally got to the beach it was completely deserted and not in a good way. There was some locals in the parking lot fighting and the beach was covered in seaweed. The surf shop and restaurant was closed. It was a scary creepy feeling. So we decided to hike back to the bus to go to horseshoe bay (which is beautiful and has amenities). We waited 45 minutes for the bus by the way. Maybe if the shops were open and the place didn't look like a creepy ghost town it would have been ok. If you are willing to take chance, then go right ahead. My advice don't be stupid and just go to horseshoe or one of the other beautiful beaches bermuda has to offer!!!!

This was a gem we found one day while renting a boat and riding around the island. We had 3 days to do activities on the island because of the cruise itinerary - and we hung out at Daniels Head twice. The people there are warm and inviting. The beach was crystal clear- the kids were watching fish from the pier, we were all paddle boarding....everyone had something to enjoy doing. The food was out of this world- fresh tuna caught the day before- best meal I had the whole week. Can't wait to get back to bermuda- I will spend the whole time chillin out at Daniels Head!

This was our favorite beach area in Bermuda! Warm, crystal clear waters, no crowds, and calm, small beaches make the park a must see in Bermuda!

Daniels Head is a little known beach park but now has a cafe, Stand Up Paddle boards and kayaks available. It is a fantastic place to use paddle boards right off the beach.

Awesome protected beaches to enjoy on a windy day when the wind is coming in from the east. Beautiful, serene views.

We explored 9 different beaches during our 10days stay in Bermuda. This beach was the worst by far. The beach is full of broken glass. Groups of water scooters coming from the cruising boats located at the DockYard come and stop and disturb the area. Smell gaz as well.

We decided to stay but went to the beach to the right . Not much better for broken glass, but was ok for few hours. I could swim with few turtles that is the only positive comment I would say.

The water is quiet and not very deep. The sand is not as nice and full of algues. I would not bring child’s because of the broken glass.

Very disappointed- I wished I read the most recent 2017 comments from this site.

There are so many nice beaches - do not spent time to go at this one!
