Visited the clay studio where you are shown how to throw a clay pot and have a go yourself on a potters’ wheel. Sam, our teacher was brilliant, knowledgeable and engaging. Being a huge fan of Keith Breymer and The Great Pottery Throwdown, I was keen to get stick in and, much to everyone’s surprise I was a natural! Managed to throw three different designs in my allotted time, one of which is part of the price and my wife decided we should buy the other two for £7.50 each. They wait for the pots to dry out then fire them and send them out in the post. To sum up, I would recommend this experience to everyone.

Fantastic experience day here yesterday , excellent value for money, coffee or tea on arrival, then tour of the factory, followed by afternoon tea and an hour making a pot. The tour of the factory was very interesting and the guide very knowledgeable.. really good to see craftsmen and women at work…afternoon cream tea served in the cafe/restaurant, the only criticism is that Diabetics are not catered for so I had to miss out on the lovely cakes…. All staff really friendly and very attentive. Making a pot was an experience, never having used a pottery wheel before , Sam was great explaining everything and help both myself and my husband… unfortunately she had to leave half way through our hour long experience and the young lady who took over was disinterested and spent a lot of time on her phone … we had the chance to make two pots and then chose which one we would like fired and posted out to us when ready. We visited the museum and had a very enjoyable time looking at Wedgwood through the ages, we then visited the factory outlet shop , but a very limited selection of things to buy. The main shop was superb… all the amazing Wedgwood products on display and the 20% voucher I had came in handy when i bought a vase. All in all a very enjoyable day … allow about five hours for the experience day !

Enjoyed several hours here. Firstly in the studio throwing a pot and creating a small vase which was later fired for us and posted on. Then into the emporium for tea, beautifully served from elegant teapots into fine China cups. The main shop and outlet shop both well stocked with a range of items from a few pounds upward!
Finally don’t miss a visit to the museum (free entry) its interesting & informative
Unfortunately the factory tour was not available on the day of our visit

It was my first time visiting wedgewoods and upon first impressions it looked amazing and the initial service was great, although this didn’t last long.

We booked afternoon tea for 3. I am not a huge tea fan but thought I’d give one a try. When taking our order the lady told us that she’d pop back round to see if I was okay with the tea and to take further refreshment orders if we needed it, it was unlimited tea after all. The food & drinks came, which I must add was very mediocre for the cost of £30pp. After well over an hour at the table, a while with empty glasses and teapots and no body to ask for more I got up and went to the bar to order myself a glass of coke. It was 16:55, 5 minutes before closing. The lady refused to serve me as “the tills are off”, although I’m not sure why this mattered as I wanted it adding to my total bill, not to pay there and then.Thirsty, unimpressed and confused as how me and a cafe full of people were supposed to pay for their food if “the tills are off” I went back to my table where we decided it was time to leave.

We went to a different till to pay and we wanted to pay part cash part card. The lady informed us she’d have to take us to the other till (the till that’s supposedly turned off) as she didn’t take cash at her till. After stating that we were just told that one was closed after wanting to order a drink the lady told me I would’ve been refused service as they have to close down the BARISTA machine to be cleaned. I told the lady I only wanted a coke and she admitted to me that it shouldn’t have been a problem and there’s no reason the other lady couldn’t have served me!! She also said that we probably should have been made aware of when we could last order drinks even though it was her self who seated us and served us. I’m also not sure if that should make a difference anyway when it was table service and in the space of nearly an hour and a half no one asked us if we needed more drinks.

After just deciding to put the entire bill on my card we left only to walk past the original lady who refused my drinks order serving a gentleman on the till she’d just told me was turned off!!

So in conclusion for £30pp I would expect drop dead gorgeous food &/or impeccable service and im afraid wedgewoods ticked neither of them boxes.

I've visited a couple of times previously and always loved it, so much so that I bought the annual pass (expired during lockdown and benefits lost) so my husband bought the tour and afternoon tea for my birthday so we could experience it together.

Disappointingly today the tour was not good. If I'd known how much he'd paid for the tour alone (£25 for us two) I would have complained whilst there. We're in our thirties with perfect hearing but heard less than half of what the tour guide said. She had a microphone over a mask, but due to factory noise it was difficult to hear. Also the group was quite large and everyone was attempting an amount of social distancing so again, it was impossible to squeeze in close to listen. We picked up some details from the information boards, but had to rush on to keep up with the tour, so only scanned them quickly.

It was more detailed pre restrictions and I appreciate they're doing the best they can but groups need to be smaller or the price cheaper. £25 for 45 mins with virtually nothing learned was really disappointing.

The afternoon tea was super, very inventive vegan options which I very much appreciated. However, sadly I'd no longer rush back or recommend it.

Free car park, clean toilets, lifts and accessible.

Dear TwinMummyL, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear your experience of the factory tour was not a positive one, we are working on our tour sizes and understand the COVID safety measures do sometimes hinder the experience. We have taken your comments on board and will make the necessary improvements.

If you want to throw a pot you will be literally treated as an i**** and made as told and instructed. The male instructor (Lewis) took over literally all the steps in making the pottery for which we have hoped to make 'ours'. What is the point? Even if you make a wobbly piece, that is your work. Why would you want for someone else to take over? Besides, you are limited to choosing from designs there, and what you read on the website is a lie: you do not get the time to create your own piece of pottery. We were rushed through the process in the morning as the previous booking was running over around 20 minutes. The four of us were given 10 minutes each, as the instructor insisted we do not try too many times. Why would you want to suffer because of others don't adhere to their given timeframe? I understand these guys may be perfectionists, but the aim of our visit was completely different. The next issue is that your pot will not even be glazed and you will have to wait around a month for your creation to be ready. If you want to visit the 'Masterclass', you literally have to be there straight after opening, as the timeslots will be filled up in no time for the day. None of this information is available on the website. Be warned, you will be disappointed when visiting this place.

Thank you for your feedback. I am surprised and sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience as we take negative feedback very seriously. The majority of our visitors are very pleased with the pots they make as you can see in our visitor reviews. Our studio potters are there to guide and assist the making of the pot through a step by step process, occasionally the potter may have to straighten or adjust the clay so the visitor can proceed to the next step. The shapes we have on display are for guidelines only, as from our experience it gives visitors an idea of what they can aim to achieve when making their piece on the wheel. We don’t describe these sessions in the Master Craft Studio as a masterclass. Regarding time slots, the website states: ‘Available Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm. Pot throwing takes around 15 minutes and is run on a first come first served basis, please allow sufficient time to avoid disappointment.’ You were unhappy during your visit and it's unfortunate that you didn’t tell us of your frustration at the time, as we would have taken the necessary steps to meet your individual expectations. I hope that you found other areas of World of Wedgwood to your satisfaction.

The staff throughout the shops, museum and tea rooms are always incredibly polite, helpful and always pay extra attention to my little girl making her and my family feel very welcome.
The tea rooms are impeccable with beautiful decor, excellent food and at a very reasonable price.
The shops have an excellent range of items all to suit different price points which is perfect! Wonderful to see a range of additional local artists, designers and craftsmen too.
The museum is beautifully curated and presented with lots of interactive sections great for all ages and easy to follow the exciting story of Wedgewood.
Myself, family and friends have returned many times and are always impressed.

We had booked for the afternoon tea experience in March 2020(which was a Christmas present from family) but had to cancel due to the Covid-19 lock down. Caroline on the reception could not have been more helpful with the re-booking, and explaining all the procedures they had put into place, as this was the first time out for some of the party it made them feel at ease and able to enjoy the day. It was lovely to meet her on the day we visited so say thank you in person.
We had booked the pottery painting class and Naomi was very helpful and full of ideas for our work, once again social distancing was fantastic and made our party feel safe.
The main event of afternoon tea was fabulous, well worth the drive of over an hour. Beautiful setting, pleasant staff and tasty food. If I had to put a down side, we spent so much time with the Wedgwood information centre we ran out of time to see the Artisan Market. But that is a good reason to visit again. Well done to all Wedgwood staff for making our day special.

We were on a canal boat holiday as passed this centre. When we checked the website on our phone it said it would be open. We went along for 10:00 when it said it opened only to be told by the lady on reception that the museum was closed that day. We said the website said it was open and she replied that if you paged to the bottom it said that it wasn't. It is a very poor website that means key information is at the bottom of the page.
We did visit the factory shop and the outlet shop and made purchases. We could have got a free coffee in the tearoom but we only realised that when we looked at the receipt later in the day. If only the shop assistant had said something about it !

This is the most beautiful Santa’s grotto we’ve experienced in Staffordshire. It’s well lit for starters (all the others are so dark for some reason) and I loved the decorative props that represented Wedgwood ornaments. Santa was so lovely, so authentic…going into great detail about all things Christmas (how children make the nice list, how the reindeers fly, etc) and he was even knowledgable about the very specific items our boys had on their Christmas list. He made the boys laugh and they had such a good time. It was a gorgeous experience and we will continue to come back to this one without a doubt. The only slight thing I would change is to perhaps have Santa meet the children in the beautiful sleigh when they first walk in, for a photo, and then walk them down to his seat for their chat. We missed a photo op on the sleigh as the boys were eager to get down to Santa first. Aside from that it was perfect really.
