Great experience. We went with three children (12, 10, and 7), and they were always excited. Professional guides (retired miners knowing everything about the mine and salt, in general :) were friendly and supportive. We all had fun combined with the lesson on geology, mining technology and ...local legends. Plus, a bag of nice crystals of pink salt. Only two places around the world have it. Kłodawa and...Pakistan (the one that comes to your tables as the Himalayan salt comes from the mine 300 km away of Himalayas :)

Kłodawa is a WORKING salt mine with decades, even hundreds of years reserves that could be mined. It's not a famous as the Wieliczka mine, but it will grow in stature. We visited the 550m level which is not operational. Just 30m more we would have been at the level where all the digging is current. The mine covers 12 square Kilometres and offically 5km deep, but it believed that there are reserves down to 7km deep....!!!!
Salt here come in two distinct colours. The very rare Pink salt which is mined in one other site in the world. Which you will see in the caverns on the tour. And a brilliant white which unfortunately is too far from the main shaft and tour route. But I would expect this to be breath taking when it is finally open to visitors.
But the white salt is available on display in underground rail trucks and you can take a piece of pink and white salt..!!!
These salts are used from road salt, table salt, salt lamps, etc....

The tourist route very cool because it is routed into an operating mine where you can see how really working miners.
Small minus for the poor organization of the office, where he buys a ticket.
