About
Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydłowiec is the only institution of this type in Poland considered by UNESCO as the world's first professional museum of folk musical instruments of one country. The collection has about 2,300 museum exhibits, and some of them date back to the end of the 17th century. You can see instruments such as bagpipes, "zlobcoki", double basses, fiddles or drums.

The museum is dedicated to exactly what its name suggests. Even though it is located in the Radom region, the factual exhibition presents instruments from all over Poland, from Pomerania to the Beskids. I recommend visiting, especially since it is 5 minutes from the exit from the Warsaw-Kraków route. One hour is enough to watch it, so it's perfect for a break in the journey - unless we want to read everything, try playing selected instruments (sic) and walk around the castle, then we need more time :)

PS they are back on the route, it is best to drive through the charming Szydłowiec market square, i.e. slightly differently than the navigation guides

The castle itself, apart from the fact that it is old and had great owners, does not make it crazy, but as a whole with the surroundings it is perceived completely differently. Everything is wonderful, even fairy-tale. Beautiful gardens and nature. The castle is a museum and a few rare artifacts. A wonderful place.
