The peak is not very high so it is an easy hike. At the top there is a tower (it costs 6 PLN to go up) which offers nice views. There is a small bar at the mountain whihc serves some bacis food.

Wielka Sowa is the highest peak in Góry Sowie (Owl Mountains). Accessible by foot only, with huge choice of walks allowing people to ascend the peak. Forests covering Wielka Sowa are one of the most damaged by pollution in area. There's a lookout tower on top - access with tickets only. Built in 1906. Undisturbed views over large parts of Sudetes mountains. Few wooden shelters around the tower. Small choice of snacks available in the tower. Ski lifts from Rościszów out of work, downhill course retaken by the forces of nature. Shortes walks from the bottom of Wielka Sowa to its top, are from Przełęcz Walimska (blue trail), Walim (yellow trail), or Przełęcz Sokola (red trail, part of the longest and most important trail in Sudetes, called Główny Szlak Sudecki). All mentioned starting points offer car parks and refreshements.

The tower is in a suttuningly beautiful Park. Which is well worth the drive. Also near several Nazi bunker bunkers.

This place is near to several Nazi bunkers related to Project Riese by Hitler.
There are several ways to ascent to the summit of Wielka Sowa. The climb is quite rough at first, slowly it gets better. It is a 30 minutes climb if you are enjoying the climb.
Please keep in mind you don't have much choice of food on the top. There is only a truck selling pierogi on top. It has only a small space on the summit. The lookout tower is breathtaking, but keep it mind you can freeze up there on the peak of the tower.

Wielka Sowa is situated about 40 minutes from Sokola pass. The ascent is a bit tough at the beginning, then it gets friendlier. Once you get to the top, you can relax and admire the views. The entrance fee is 6 PLN. You are not allowed to take your dog up the tower. There is no mountain hut so you cannot buy anything to eat or drink.
