About
The underground railway located in the mine is the first attraction of this type in Poland, and fourth in Europie. In the past it used to serve the miners as their mean of transport of miners. Today tourist can seize the opportunity to have a ride. But before we get to the start of the round tour of the Museum. You can also see here different models of mining casings.

Interesting and funny
Aug 2019 • Family
The anthracite main is well worth visiting with children and without. At the beginning it doesn't look like much, but our guide, Rysio was absolutely amazing. He was funny, informative (without giving just dry facts) and had loads of stories up his sleeve throughout the tour. The main is very interesting and unique as most of the equipment is still functioning and working despite being closed for years. It shows in a funny and educational way how difficult and tiresome working conditions were in that main at the time. Good example of how health and safety has improved over the years. Not suitable for those who are not comfortable in small and dark spaces.

Nowa Ruda best attraction!
Dec 2018
🇳🇿We visited in December 2018. We had a private tour in English and it was one of the best experience in Poland. Very informative and educational as well as entertaining experience. Be careful when you visiting as ghost is still living in the mine!

🇵🇱Odwiedziliśmy kopalnie w grudniu 2018. Co za wspaniałe miejsce! Przewodnik bardzo ciekawie opowiada historie kopalni. Naprawdę polecamy! Miejsce warte odwiedzenia!

Coal mine
Aug 2017 • Family
A bit of a flashback for us, as we visited this place in early nineties of 20th century, and we were looking for comparisons. It's got to be said, that they changed a lot. From a museum that was basically still a working mine to fully tourist feature. We managed to get there in a quiet time, so the group we entered the shaft with was not so big, so everyone could hear our tour guide - as this museum is with guided tours only. Our tour guide was very good, with a lot of knowledge on all ascpects of coal mining in area, and especially in this particular mine in Nowa Ruda. All coal mines in Dolny Śląsk came to a sad end with closures in early nineties of 20th century - most of them turned into economic zones, with tax reliefs for new businesses. Two mines - one here, and one in Wałbrzych were turned into tourist attractions, where anyone can get full insight on miners life. Deffinitelly worth visit, despite being somewhat hard to find, with not enough signs from towns bypass, and very narrow and confusing access road. Car parking spaces and some surroundings of the reception building still in need of urgent investment.

Polecam odwiedziny i przejscie trasy. It is worth visiting because of the historical value. The guide does her best and makes the whole experience more interesting. However, I do not know if she speaks any other language. Still it is a must!

Very interesting visit to old coal mine

We arrived early so we had the tour guide nearly only to ourselves. The exhibition on the ground is OK, but the best is underground. This includes tour of a closed coal mine including some 'scaring' from mine gnome and ride in miners train.

A must see when you are in Kłodzko Valley even if you think that coal mine isn't for you!..

Fantastic experience giving a real insight of what was a routine day for coal miners in late 20 century.

Overground part shows all the ins and outs of what was extracted from the coal fields, what tools and equipment was used and how the mine was managed.

For the underground part of this tour make sure you have a jacket or at least long sleeve top with you as it can get a bit nippy down there. There is well maintained equipment which explains how coal was dug out, good few hundreds meters of corridors and several chambers converted into presentation rooms. Although at first it was a bit scary for small children (dark confined space) but as we followed the guide they really enjoyed the visit.

As a word of warning, pick your hardhat wisely... why? Well, you will see why...

Not only for children
Jun 2016 • Couples
This was the first time I'd been in a coal mine and it was great fun! Sightseeing is divided into two parts. Each takes about 30 mins. Firstly, you get to know the history of coal and coal mining. Secondly, you're invited underground in order to see, listen and feel the hardships of a miner's life. At the end of the tour, you have a chance to travel by real underground railway.
An adult ticket costs 17 PLN. Outside there's a small car park. In addition, you also have a restaurant and a souvenir shop.
