Staying at this wonderful Castle for a friends wedding. Arrived last night and asked can we get a drink outside. Sure she said...then Never came out to take the order. Odd we thought. Went to the bar and was just ignored by 5 staff before I just asked the bar guy who came in can I get a drink...he looked really pissed off but I got a beer. Restaurant same thing service was poor I expect a captive audience price uplift but prices are way over the top for food and drink given that they can't even smile. Poor groom went to get some food and was told the kitchen is closed now so no! Other guests we're saying how unfriendly the staff were and unhelpful. Went to the spa this morning ..hot tub empty and out of order, pool tiny and the water jet wasn't on. Told reception and it was like I was just a interruption to her text messages..just dismissed my complaint and didn't even look up from her phone. I could not say if this is normal for when they have a wedding on or not but it isn't an acceptable or professional service given the Price point in comparison to the rest of the country and I've been visiting CZ for a long time now and know how professional they can be in the hospitality industry.

It is a very functional castle, as there is a hotel, restaurant and sale of artefacts and souvenirs. For visitors who want to go inside, there is one museum round for explanation of the history in the newer part. It shows some very interesting artefacts from different periods of the castle's history in chronological order. There is also a part for freemasonry order and the explained connection to the US and France. Other part of the castle is a separate round for the oldest part of the castle for the more physically apt. The surroundings of the castle is a large park. The castle has been actively used by the communist military throughout the Cold War, so there was no entry to the public for almost 60 years. Before that, the Nazis used it as their headquarter in the area during the World War II. Today, a very quite place for a stroll and relaxation.

We stayed at the castle for two nights together with many friends. The castle is absolutely amazing, lots of interesting history and beautiful scenery with wineranks, trees, flowers. The staff are great and proffesional. You really feel like a princess from the 16 th century when you enter though the majestic gates.

Celebrated my 60th birthday at Zbiroh. Everything was perfect, the environment, food and service. A perfect place to gather friends and family for celebration, but also for a relaxing weekend in the countryside.

We were literally amazed to find this spectacular castle and towering majestic forest only a 30-min drive from Pilsen. The historical reenactment of the battle involving George (Jiri) of Podebrady was very good. To be expected from the Knights of the Czech Crown (Rytire Koruny Ceske). The restaurant in the castle grounds is decorated in medieval style, and the waiters are dressed to match. The costs are above average, but the traditional Czech meals are superb, especially the Svickova (Beef in creamy vegetable sauce with dumplings) which is the best I have ever had. We visited on a rainy day, but were still impressed. We want to visit again soon.
