We went here for a wine tasting on our tour of the island. The wines - especially the reds - were very good here. They were also more reasonably priced than the other vineyards we visited. It was the only place we bought a bottle. Owner was friendly as well.

Best wine i have ever tryed. Excellent. Great visit. The host knew a lot about the area and the reason behind the name of the vineyard. Very much worth a visit.

This was the first vineyard we visited on Waiheke and it was a GREAT introduction. Small and personable, friendly and comfortable, we were off to a great start to our holiday! We bought a lovely Rosé after a casual and informative tasting. We never felt hurried and were able to truly enjoy every bit of the experience nestled in the... More

We visited Obsidian as part of our See Waiheke wine tour. Lovely setting, we had a chance to walk amongst the vines with a glass of vino. They were quite busy so there was a bit of a wait, but it was an enjoyable one. Great reds, recommend a visit!

Not recomend to treaking to visit here, take a rental car or taxi. We appreciate with warm welcome and nice wine testing. Rose wine is nice but we just don't like red wine with pepper.

Enjoyed a tasting here today. As a white wine drinker I didn't expect to enjoy the reds on offers, but they were to die for. Out host was friendly and knowledgable and we loved the laid back atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I always stop at this Vineyard when visiting Waiheke as they seem to make wines of a different variety to most of the other vineyards on waiheke. Every vineyard seems to make a Syrah, however on the last visit I particularly enjoyed the Obsidian Montepulciano. On previous visits in prior years the Tempranillo has stood out for me. (Thats not... More

Hiking around Waiheke, I told a local that I was interested in tasting Italian varietals grown locally. He sent me to Obsidian where Sharon graciously shared her knowledge of wines (in general) and Obsidian wine making processes, specifically. I enjoyed everything I tasted, especially the Syrah and Montelpulciano wines. I was traveling solo, hiking around the island. In summary a... More
