Put in four words: My recommendation to everyone! In (a lot...) more detail: It is only after three months that I found the time to review the tour offered by Trine and Roger, and the great memory of the trip is still very fresh. I booked a "dog sledding on wheels" tour for mid-September through the VisitTromso website. Shortly before the trip, I wrote to Trine and Roger to reconfirm the location and got a fast and clear answer, so I had no trouble finding the starting place (you need to drive there, no public transport). Trine and Roger were very nice and attentive and even lent me a jacket so that I don't get dirty. And yes, I was not prepared that, in absence of snow, you get QUITE dirty on this tour. :) The tour itself was really a highlight in my already long and memorable trip. The dogs were lovely, and the mere feeling of driving a cart pulled by the dogs is something I hardly can describe and definitely want to repeat! Approximately half-way we made a stop by the fire, with lively conversation, coffee and Norwegian pastry, which was very tasty (I sometimes make it myself now - need the original Norwegian cheese though). After the break, the dogs were really eager to continue - I never thought they could pull the cart so fast! I was further lucky, as Roger had spare time after the trip and even showed me briefly the farm where the dogs live. And so, I also had a chance to see that it is not just some business for money only and that the dogs are kept in very good conditions. All in all, it is one of the best memories of my journey around Norway, I loved every moment of it, and again: I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!

I highly recommend using Roger and Trine on your stay in Norway. You get an authentic Norwegien family experience and insights that no guidebook can tell. Best of all is the flexibility to do experiences that you want. My made up our trip as we went along. Roger is an expert outdoor guide in almost every activity you can think of. He is also an experienced northern lights chaser. We had such an incredible northern lights experience. The colours were so intense. That was down to Roger knowing the best viewing points. We tried out dog sledging for the first time. It was heaps of fun. We also camped out in the Arctic winter. We did a guided tour of the landscapes and even got to see some whales. Roger and Trine invited us into their homes for a Norwegien Christmas. It was really special to be an extension of their family. The are very warm hearted and kind people. I'm already looking forward to another visit in the summer.

There are no words that can describe the amazing adventures we had with Roger and Trine! they have lead us to the greatest that Arctic Norway has to offer through the eyes of the locals. We have kayaked, snowshoed, cross country skied with their huskies, drove under the northern lights on their husky sled, snowmobiled, chased the Northern lights with lots of photography tips and much more in the best locations. All we needed was there for us, special clothing, sporting gear, breakfast, lunch, dinner and all that is in between, lots of hot drinks. Almost forgot the hot jacuzzi amidst the snowy scenery. This was so much more than we expected, truly an experience of a lifetime! and already dreaming of our next time.
