Loppa is located in the south-west of Norwegian Lapland/Finnmark County, on the coast. Loppa is well worth a visit, both on sunny days and in winter storms. The countryside around Loppa provides wonderful silence and memorable adventures such as trips on the glacier, hunting and fishing. You can also take a trip right up to the oksfjord glacier, either by foot, ski or boat. The waters around Loppa are well-known for their great fishing. You can catch cod, halibut and other wonderful species. Join us on a fishing trip! The Hurtigrute ships call into oksfjord daily, all year round. Two hours by car/bus from oksfjord to Alta which has daily flight connections to Oslo and Tromso. Loppa has a surface area of 686 km2. The borough has a population of just under 1,100, of which around half live in the administration centre of oksfjord. The primary industries in the borough are fishin.
