The museum helps you to take a step back in time to experience very slightly, what it would have been like to live there when it was settled. The people working there were very friendly.

An interesting insight of the life and times from the gold rush days. They have recreated what life must have been like which was quite harsh. Worth the stop on the way through on you trip. Nothing else in Yale though.

Just a block off the highway is this old house with nice landscape now called the Yale Historic Site. In less than an hour you will find a strange kind of history from back in the day, regarding Gold mining, what was considered bad enough...More

Wanted to check this out for sometime, of course it was the end of the season, so not many people or choices for lunch, but would go back again in the spring

Detailed written and pictured history of the town's creation, from the settlement of the area by the aboriginal people, through the gold rush of the 1850's and the building of the railroad with the chinese work groups. Rich and well presented by the guides.

A lovely Historic Site to visit. There is lots to see and great for the whole family. We were a little disappointed that the Creighton House was not set up as a historic house, but as a place to see bits-and-pieces of artifacts. And, we...More

What a great set up and the hands on experience. My girls got to try gold panning, played a card games and even checkers. Our favorite part was trying on different outfits of the times. You have to go, spend the time and you have...More

This is an out of the way gem. The museum is a great resource for learning the history of the local area. It was amazing to learn that there were so many people in Yale at one time - of course, there was gold to...More
