Our host at Layla House told us to just walk down to the pier and talk to someone with a boat that does snorkeling tours. It was that easy. Tomas was a fantastic guide. My wife was a little uncomfortable with the snorkel gear, but Tomas was very patient and helpful. He took us to the best spots, timed our... More

This is an outstanding place for a relaxing vacations away of the crowd and expensive cities, nice beaches awesome places to to snorkeling (at a very low prices) and this natural park, is even better than isla mujeres, it has a similar view as Cozumel.

Some of the best we have ever seen. Our particular vendor had a pretty crummy boat and even worse equipment but the reef itself was stunning and tropical fish aplenty.

Went snorkelling and it was fantastic , Carribean corals reefs are nice but nothing like the variety of species found in Indonesia.

Went for it with Charlie Brown and his snorkel guide Alex from the cooperative at the dock. We were skeptical about the conditions due to the wind and 1-2 foot seas with occasional white caps, but we're assured that the area just inside the reef would be much calmer. It was... my husband and I and our two kids, ages... More

We snorkeled the reef twice in September and both days offered us the clearest views of the reef and colorful fish that live in it. We had the pleasure of seeing a huge sting ray that was approx 4 feet across and 6 feet long ( with tail) it was simply amazing to witness it's graceful moves. The reef looks... More

Loads of guys all do the same thing for snorkeling in Puerto Morelos. From what we gathered the guys on the peer did a reliable version of this. $20, two hours, two locations. The Reef is beautiful and varied. Kids can do this too! In the early morning you might see a shark but most trips will see barracudas, rays,... More

We went with an excursion group and were unable to enjoy because they just kept us swimming behind the leader instead of letting us explore. It was exhausting and not as enjoyable cause we were constantly having to get on and off boat.

So glad we did this, and glad we did not book through the hotel. Took a taxi to the dock and went straight to the Cooperativa and spoke to the people there. It's a fraction of the price that a tour company charges. The coral was way better than I was expecting, lots of purple sea fans and other coral.... More

Booked this activity right at the pier. The guides were very nice and helpful. The company we used is called Seven Days and it's ran by Paco. Will do it again if visiting the area.
