My and my wife visited the Puerto Morelos area for some diving over a 10 day vacation in June of 2021.

While researching a place to dive with we reached out to 8 or so dive shops in the area and while we heard back from nearly all of them Crescent and Aquanauts clearly was interested in making sure we did the diving we wanted to do. She replied with detailed information about the area and the types of dives and answered all my questions.

We ended up booking nearly 30 tanks with Aquanauts and dove a variety of areas from multiple Cenotes, reed dives, lion fish hunting, whale shark snorkeling, underwater museums, a shipwreck and a night dive.

I am a rescue diver with more than 500 dives and dozens of dive operations behind me and I can say that Crescent made the experience with Aquanauts feel like diving with old friends. There were of course hiccups I think we went through at least 5 flashlights on our dives, but we also feel safe and well taken care of. When you are diving with friends you can expect some stuff to not go as planned.

Crescent and her husband divemaster William bent over backwards to accommodate our dive request from last minute changes because my wife got sunburned and wanted a day off to getting in all the dive sites we wanted. Even a night dive which my wife has been trying to do for 5 countries/trips now.

There is no other way to say it, diving with Aquanauts felt like diving with my friends. Crescent packed us lunches on long days and made recommendations in things to do around town. They arranged all transport from and to our resort, often times picking us up themselves.

While they were priced a bit higher than some of the other shops we talked to they definitely had the service to stand behind it. My wife even got her nitrox cert through them while we were there and it went very smoothly. If you are looking to dive this area I recommend that you call or email them and speak to Crescent, I doubt you will go anyone else after.

While William was a great divemaster, friendly, and knew his stuff it was Crescent who made this place what it was. She was constantly going above and beyond for her guest and we will send everyone here who asks us for a dive recommendation in the area.

We went diving for four days with Aquanauts Dive Adventures and were able to experience reef dives, wreck dives and senote dives. We are experienced divers and found that the Aquanauts Dive Adventures dive shop provides excellent diving service to their customers. Rene and Diana were great dive masters and owners Cresent and William are friendly and approachable. All our dives except the senotes were boat dives and the Aquanauts boats were in excellent shape with plenty of room. We always felt safe on and in the water while diving. Lot's of cool animals to see on the reefs and the senote's were amazing! Dive shop is conveniently located next to the El Cid Marina Resort which we took advantage of. All in all we highly recommend Aquanauts Dive Adventures. As a bonus we ran across a pod of dolphins on the way back from a dive and swam with them. Super cool.

I am a novice diver and have visited multiple dive centers as a tourist, and I can say that Aquanauts Dive Adventures was the most friendly and caring dive center I've ever been to.

So, I initially "imagined" an underwater marriage proposal, and Aquanauts actually made it happen in real life. Crescent, the owner of this dive shop, was very kind and professional. She answered all of my questions in dozens of emails and assured me how I can make the underwater proposals happen in real life. Our instructor Juan was also very professional, teaching everything in detail and making sure student is comfortable underwater. He entertained us when we were seasick and nervous, but also kept calm and held us when we needed help underwater.

Aquanauts, along with its crew members, arranged a special moment for our underwater proposal and it really gave us a very unique and special memory of our life. Special thanks to Selene, the photographer who took amazing underwater photos and videos with impressive composition.

If you are looking for a dive experience nearby, I would highly recommend Aquanauts with no doubts!

I booked a SCUBA refresher plus a package of 5 two-tank dives with Aquanauts. From the very start, everyone there felt like family. I have dove at several other locations around the Caribbean and this was the smoothest, most customer friendly operation I have ever experienced! They offered to do everything for me except the actual dive. No lugging tanks & equipment. At the end of the dives, the dive masters help remove all equipment and pass them to the boat crew. All the dive masters are great - William, Juan, Soy (might not be spelled correctly), and JoAnna. For my last dive, I was encouraged to dive the shipwreck which was deeper than I typically go. They offered to send me out on another boat for a shallower dive, but gently encouraged me to consider the shipwreck. I went for it and was SO glad I did! We had a rare treat of two dolphins playing around us for at least 5 minutes. The wreck was great and the dive masters made sure I was having a good dive. This is at the Marina at the El Cid resort and don't worry about getting there...they include transportation.

Crescent, Juan and the whole Aquanauts team are a very good bunch of divers to go experience the Mesoamerican Barrier reef with!

Not only are they highly experienced, Juan (the instructor) makes safety his no. 1 priority at every stage. At no point was anything other than safe diving encouraged, while still taking time to laugh and point out various sites along the way.

While you could easily go with another dive shop to experience the reef, the combination of fair prices and friendly people make this a no-brainer.

This was our first time vacationing in Puerto Morelos. I recently had a scuba diving friend that came back from PM not long before we booked. I asked him a bit about the area and of course who he dove with.
He gave me the name of Acquanauts Dive Adventures and gave them a great recommendation.

So I reached out to the shop to find out a bit more. Crescent quickly responded to my email and gave me a summary of what they offer and the various prices.
I have dove with quite a few dive shops in various parts and was immediately impressed with their quick response.
I had planned to dive 2 tanks per day during our vacation however weather had other plans.
I did however get to the Cenotes the first day with William the co-owner. He gave the 3 of us on the dive a great trip and great hospitality. He gave a very detailed dive briefing. They packed us a great light lunch.

Day 2 I dove with Dan. We had 7 of us on the dive. Dan was a great Dive Guide and took us to 2 great dive sites. He gave a great pre dive briefing on the sites and did take good care of us.
The captain of the boat did a great job navigating us out and back in.

Overall I was impressed by the shop and their operation. The boat I was in was well maintained and it appears they run very good dive equipment rentals. I did not use theirs as I always bring my own.

One thing I immediately noticed on the first day I showed up is how they immediately make you feel welcomed.
If anyone is in the Puerto Morelos area I highly recommend that you contact Acquanauts.
When I paid the dive bill prices were exactly as the info provided in the first email.

We are planning to come back in November and will certainly contact them again for my dive needs.

I can't say enough about how amazing this shop is to use for diving and exploring Mexico! I found Aquanauts though the recommendations of fellow divers and gave them a call. From just one conversation with Crescent, all my questions were answered and we were off on a great partnership to create an amazing trip not just for my diver husband and myself, but my larger family who were nondivers coming to Mexico to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

Crescent worked with my husband and I to find the safest weather and best locations for our diving adventures. We are both new divers, me being very anxious as well. The dive masters were amazing and helped us both improve our skills with every dive. We even went outside our comfort zone a bit at their recommendation and tried a cenote dive which was an amazing experience!

For our larger group, Crescent helped me even plan land tours to help create lifelong memories for the rest of my family. It's not easy to please 13 people, but everyone left smiling and raving about all the amazing adventures we got to experience. Crescent helped us coordinate all kinds of tours including ruins tours, turtle snorkeling, cenote swims, shopping, and a visit to a monkey sanctuary. We even got to cross off seeing whale sharks from our bucket list!

If you're visiting Mexico to dive, use this shop. If you're coming with family or friends who are not divers, still use this shop! They are true locals and will make you feel like family while you're there. We can't wait to go back again!

The location of the dive shop was perfect, right at the marina of the hotel at which we were staying. The dive leader, captains, and divemaster's were great. Bottom time was good: 45-50 minutes in the shallow reefs. Unfortunately, the wind in Feb is not very good, and the port is often closed. I eventually was able to do two dives. The price was lower than I thought it was going to be, that is always nice. This is a no thrills operation (no cold water on the boat) or snacks. Water was available in a reusable bottle. Great for the environment, but it wasn't cold. It was not a warm and fuzzy operation left you feeling like family. That has been my experience everywhere I have dove in Mexico. Customer service was poor. I arrived at the dive shop one of the days, and the owner was on a personal call, she ended the call after a bit and apologized for the delay. However, I came back another day, and she on another personal call. I waited a few minutes and it was apparent she was not going to end her call. In fact, she had another call ring in and she ended the 1st call to take the 2nd call. Rather than attending to me, she continued to talk on the phone. I eventually interacted with another staff member to purchase a t-shirt that I do not believe this other staff member understood what I was saying. I wanted to leave additional money for a tip, because when I tipped the day before it was a little lite. If I return to that area, I will be using a different dive operation.

Thank you for your honest feedback. I apologize that we left you underwhelmed. Yes, the winter winds can make for difficult scheduling. There are many days of port closures. I spend a lot of time reorganizing the schedule to make the best possible tours for the weather forecast. I am glad we were able to get you some dives. As for phone calls, yes, that is a big part of the reservation process. It can be hard to get a decent phone connection, as calls are dropped very often. I am glad other staff members were able to attend you. I am sorry it was not me. We look forward to your next visit, if you choose to dive with us again. C.

We booked the 2 hour snorkel reef trip. Our guides were Vincente and Alberto. We were guide round the reef ( just a small group of 3) and say stunning coral, fish, rays and two turtles - very special. The equipment was great, not a leak or any misting in any of the masks. The guides had a good sense of humour and made the journey fun. Only down side was it was too short, Booking and check-in in all very simple

We brought out newly-certified 11 year old to Mexico for her fall break to enjoy her first real dive. (open water certification was in a lake with 1 foot visibility and she was head-butted by catfish). What we forgot was how different the Sean might be. She was very anxious but we thought we’d worked through it until it was time get in the water. Juan, our dive master was very patient. He ultimately pulled the plug on her dive and she spent the first day on the boat. The crew was great.

We got back to the shop and Crescent gave her homework …. Do skills in the sea at our resort. So, we did. While her certification was only 8 weeks ago, she’s forgotten how easy those were for her and had allowed her fear to build up.

Day 2 comes and we gave her choice - dive or ride in the boat. Either choice was absolutely fine. She chose to dive and while the first few minutes were touch and go, once she started descending, everything was great. Juan was her buddy, and kept her next to him for 3/4 of that dive and then let her swim close in her own. We got out of the water and the first thing she said was, “I’m hooked!”.

Dive 2 was a breeze and great wildlife on both dives. Turtles, rays, eels and more!

We can’t say enough about Crescent, Juan, Mark, the crew and everyone at the shop. You have customers for life! See you next year. THANK YOU!!
