Hi All if travellers,
I visited several times of that museum with my guests during my trekking guide period since 1995. I highly recommend to visit that place who have interesting to know about if Gurung people's and what kinds of equipment that was using of long years before. Gurung means one kinds caste or indigenous group in Nepal and mainly origin in Ghandruk village.So please visit once a time on your during of Ghorepani-Ghandruk or Annapurna base camp trekking period .

We enjoyed visiting this sweet little museum. It had great exhibits showing the old ways of people: weaving, making containers out of bamboo, milling, churning butter, grinding maize. Really interesting!

The museum is very small but is packed with items that explain life both past & present in Nepal which we found very informative.
We were trekking in the area & our guide introduced us to the locals who were very friendly & happy to share stories with us-1/2 an hour well spent!

At 100rs to enter this is definately worth a look around.
Fascinating displays of traditional crafts, basketry, wood work, metal work. It's all there, from a coat to chicken house.
My daughter particularly enjoyed doing a bit of cleaning whilst there!
It's tiny, so don't expect to spend more than half an hour/hour at the most.

We have spent 2 nights in Ghandruk. There are not so many attractions here besides so amazing views that are enough. Museum is small but interesting to see how people were living here in the past. There are some more museums in the village. We have visited one for 75 NPR per person.

Gurungs people were the preserver of this place .this meusum shows the reflection of their tribe their lifestyle and so many things

If interested in the old way of life of the local culture, consider spending 15 min - 1 hr here while in Ghandruk. One large room is stuffed with old everyday things made of bamboo (baskets optimized for every need), wood (containers, musical instruments), brass (pots, dishes), wool (blankets), etc... weapons, an altar, many things a Gurung farmer's family needed. Labels in English explain how things were (or still are) used. Fun photo opportunity. Postcards for sale outside. If you're not fascinated, the ticket won't have cost you much.
I love seeing, learning, and photographing, so I had a wonderful time, thanks to our trekking group's guide, Gyanendra Karki, who brought us here during a trek well organized by Adventure Treks Nepal.

Don't expect to find a fancy museum with multimedia and advanced presentoirs. This is a genuine local effort of a small community to show their past and history to youth and visitors and as such it is well done.The 75 Rupee entrance fee reflects that you can meaningfully spend 15-20 minutes here. Charming but it does not take your breath away.

Old Gurung Museum, one of the attraction in Ghandruk still preserves the antique culture of Gurungs. The museum is designed with typical old Gurung house with lots of collection fo their livelihood.
