Mont Gosford is the highest in the region, I was told, 1193 meter.

This was a challenging hike for me following a hip injury but was a rewarding hike and the scenery that await at the summit is absolutely breath taking.

I highly recommend this hike. It is so worth it.

A very nice place to hike as there is choice between easy to hard hikes. Also great if you don't have much time : you may reach the top in 3 hours of medium difficulty hike.

Very helpfull guide at welcoming center.

View at the top is splendid as this Mt. is above any other around + nice to read panels with explanations on what you are seeing at the top.

You must visit http://www.montgosford.com/ before going there for all the usefull information.

April 16, 2013 - no snow shoes just the ice cleats - started red tags - took the blue tags to the top - once there it was hold on - the sounds of the wind matched the intensity - a snowy slushy rain mix and the howling winds suggested we depart - the previous hikers made for a compact trail "for the most part" yet a few steps broke through and left deep depressions - the sun exposed trail sections were very icy - this was an amazing winter hike and worth every effort taken - fortunately we had our rain gear as well - the last hour was wet - also - the stream crossing in the morning in contrast to the late afternoon crossing made for thoughts of how soon it would not be an easy rock, hop and jump.

I've been told about this mountain by a local after hiking Mont Megantic. Since then, We always go to Mont Gosford instead of Megantic. Less crowded, nicer cabins, nice trail. The mountain is part of a ZEC and is open year-round. We stayed in the Refuge Morin and Clearwater on different trips and both cabins were nice and clean. The view on the top was amazing, specially in winter where all the conifer are covered by snow. For those who don't want to carry all their food, and camping gear, they offer baggage transportation during winter.

The interior roads in the park are for the loggers and not for cars. The road does not traverse the park entirely. Deads half-way up the mountain. Hike the trails instead.
