I always love coming back here. The church is not so old as Cozia, since it had to be rebuilt after a fire, but lovely. Do climb to the two old dwellings of the first monks that stayed there.

a monastery where you can see the old cells, dug in the rock, of an immaculate white, full of flowers, full of history! the road from Caciulata is beautiful, it passes over the olt dam and there are also several tunnels dug in the rock

From Caciulata just 30 minutes walk along Olt river and you can discover one beautiful place where the monks build a small heaven. It is a good example for all people which cannot see the benefits of "working and living together as a community".

Despite the fact that is secluded is very easy to get there, in the vicinity of the Cozia Monastery. The surroundings of the monastery are fabulous. Once you're here you feel like you're back in time. There are few caves were monks lived into and...More

I was happy to see that the cook, Father Dionisios, was still there, but I realized our relationship changed. He was distant..after all these years..I thought I would find a lost friend, but I was dissapointed.

Monasteries can invite you to have dinner or a meal there. It's just their way to welcome pilgrims/people. They even have accomodations for a very small fee to support the monastery
