We had a great time on our boat. We rented a 2x150hp 8 passenger boat for the 4 of us (with licence). Plenty of space, almost brand new powerful Mercury engines, sweetwater shower, soundsystem, big sundeck in the front and back with bimini. A couple handlebars need to be repaired but overall the boat was in great shape.
The team was super friendly as well. A good introduction of around 30 min was helpful to understand all features and test the anchor etc. You get an app showing you recommended places and dangerous spots. You can also get a cooler with icepacks and cubes.
We can only recommend them and don't understand why some people would leave a bad review. U get a great deal. 350-400€ + around 150€ fuel (mid speed covering most of the surrounding coastal area) is cheaper than many other places with older boats. Lots of nice places to anchor with crystal clear water.
We will book them again if we are in the area again :)

Hired the Saxdor 200 for two days from Sfakia on the south of Crete, the walk around guide passed on all the information we needed to have two exciting days exploring the south coast, stayed in Loutro overnight and went all the way to Sougia on day two. The boat only used 37 litres but was such fun to drive.
Will definitely use Notos Mare again.

We rented a boat twice: first at Sfakia, then at Marathi location of the same company.
Overall experience was very positive, especially at Marathi, and hence the rating I put is the highest. You will receive an App on your phone with the map and borders for your travelling range, and all instructions before departure. The range is large enough and places to stop are numerous, easily covering one full day.
Some critics too: the man instructing and then fueling at the Sfakia locations needs to learn a bit of being more customer friendly. Specifically, we had a small problem - our anchor got stucj betweek rocks and could not get it off the bottom for quite a while. I called, as instructed, the man at the base. He gave some instructions over the phone, and naturally, there is a bit of language barrier, so one must exercise the mutual patience. Of his instructions, 50% of the time was literally: "You loose the Anchor - you'll pay a lot", in a rather unfriendly voice. You clearly do not hel people this way. Think about that, as such experiences spoil the whole impression.
Now, about the Marathi location - the guy was utmost professional and friendly. For isntance, he upfront instructed that should you you have a stuck anchor, you fix a boije to the same rope on the other side, and leave it so, if unable to unstuck your anchor.

I reserved a boat (30hp without the need of a licence) from their website.
Everything was really clear and smooth, they also helped me a lot by phone answering some questions that I had before the reservation.
Once there the check in was quick and we start our out boat briefing with a girl and then a on board briefieng with a guy (Vardis or Vradis if I rememeber correctly).
This guy has been amazing, very kind, very helpful, very funny and very professional all at the same time. He taught us all the basics and way more other things in order to let us have the best boat trip we could possibly have.
Indeed the experience has been amazing and unforgettable for me and my girlfriend.
Thanks a lot for everything and keep on going like this.

Absolutely amazing day. We made a boat trip with skipper, 3 hours with speed boat we manage to see the best in the Seitan area, swimming in turquoise waters and avoiding crowds and hiking . Equipped with snorkeling equipment, and knowledgeable about the places. Skipper and stuff super nice, funny and professional. A great experience to try. Had an amazing day!
Hired Cobra 8.5m from Kolymvari for the day for a trip to Balos Beach and the surrounding area.
From the moment I contacted the company the service has been amazing. They have always replied promptly to any questions that i had and were extremely helpful at all times. The payment process was simple and easy too.
The office at Kolymvari was easy to find and in a perfect position right next to the harbour, with parking close by. The process of checking in (paperwork etc.) was straight forward and quick. The day before our booking, i recieved a reminder by email, and was requested to send my qualifications through, this no doubt helps speed up the check in process too, so well worth doing! The Boat Angel app that Notos Mare get you to download is very useful, it shows local hotspots to go and visit, and also some local "no go" areas to stop you getting into trouble!
The boat itself was immaculate, and had all the equipment you need for a day on the water, including a large coolbox to keep your food and drinks in!
All the staff at Notos Mare were so helpful, helping us load the boat in the morning, giving us hints and tips for places to go, and meeting us on our return to help us unload.
We ended the day with 4 very happy and tired adults and 2 very happy and tired children!
I would recommend Notos Mare Marine Adventures to anybody wanting to hire a boat whilst in Crete, their service and equipment is second to none.

Perfect for first time wanna be Captians! As a complete novice with no boating license, the 30hp 4-6 rental was perfect. The boat hire itself was very easy to book, either through contact page or their online system (the price is excluding fuel usage - read on). We booked a hire from the marine port of Kolymbari as we were along by Agia Marine area of Chania.
At the marine, after producing valid ID (driving license or passport) youre given the option of a €15 insurance excess waver which limits your excess to €400 if you need to claim, but unless youre a complete numpty and being silly, there isnt anything to hit really so save your euros. The working of the boat are explained well, and operating the boat is easy. 30hp is decent enough and can get you around all day. We opted for a full day hire which meant we could take plenty of time along the coastline.
Your route is provided for you via the Boat Angel app and shows you where youre heading from/to, there a few scenic stop along the route and plenty of swimming opportunities in crystal clear waters. Just make sure you have roaming data available. Signal is pretty good all along the coaatline as long are your not far away off the coast.
Upon return, a slow entry into the marina is a must as not to create waves. Your fuel is topped back up to full thus giving your total usage in litres then cahrged accordingly. At the time of writing it was 2€ per liter, we used 24 ltrs so we had a final bill of €48 to pay, but we did head all the way upto Paralia Menies and back, then along the coast to the island just off Chania called Agioi Theodoroi. On average youd use 12-15 ltrs if just going up and back down the coast.
So all in all, highly recommended for a good day out at your own liesure. Just remember to take provisions and a batter pack (although there was a usb charge port on ours)

Absolutely marvellous day. We treated ourselves to a private charter with a skipper. We left Chora Sfakia and went along the coast to Elafonosi beach , then returned stopping off at various deserted beaches and , of course a taverna !
I can’t recommend our skipper ANDY highly enough, he obviously new how to handle the boat and proved a good guide and great company.
Thanks to everyone at Notosmare the girls in the office were truly excellent in handling our booking

Outstanding boat rental and diving group. We rented two days, once with a captain and once ourselves. Perfect both times. Friendly, welcoming and professional. No surprises, beyond pleasant ones around the small recommendations they gave us. A little hint: This is the real deal, don't be fooled by other sites who are merely re-selling the boats offered by Notos Mare. Will be back for sure the next time we come to Crete.

Me and my girlfriend booked one of the 'no licence' boats for half a day. Started with a short briefing so i knew my way around driving and plenty of suggestions from the staff as to where we can go, which was really helpful. Then off we went and had a really lovely day in some great spots around Marathi Bay and the time went so fast we wished we had booked for the whole day. Would definitely recommend Nostos Mare Marine Adventures if you're looking for a great day out on a boat. Booking an ice cooler is a must for a full day especially - apparently this option is on their website but we couldn't find it - so maybe worth calling for this in advance of your day.
