We spent some time in Montanita, walking around and using the beach access that is available along the Malecon. The tide was coming in and the beach in the town itself was losing to the water.

Don't even bother going out of your way to go here on your travels. We were up for a party but it's a loud, expensive ($20 for entry to Nightclub) and dirty town. It's easy to see why South Americans like it as it's an...More

If you want action, you will find it here. Best surf on the point if you are not a kook. Fun everyday and night can be found. Respect the locals, they are great people.

The whole place smelled like a sewer. No way was I getting in that water! Maybe we were just there at the wrong time of year.
