We were lucky enough to have a local friend take us to this hidden gem. A time capsule of how a local peasant family would live in the late 19th C in a very lovingly preserved 18th C home.
Robert brings to life each floor with his passion, knowledge of local history-and humor! Plan ahead by visiting the website for opening times and try to combine with the lovely nearby church of Sant Miguel

My 12-year old daughter and I both loved this little gem of a museum. We were the only visitors at the time and were lucky enough to get a private, guided tour in English. Our guide was very nice and provided us with lots of interesting and fun facts about the house and the family who used to live there. After having discussed Andorran food, he also tipped us off about where to eat the best cargols (snails/escargots)in town and which brands of fuet sausage that are the best :) The entrance fee is € 5 for adults, children go for free. The tour took about 30 minutes. The museum’s surroundings are beautiful, too - an old albeit small part of town with stone paved alleys and lovely old houses. We highly recommend a visit. Pay attention to the opening hours, the museum closes for a couple of hours mid-day but re-opens in the afternoon. /Mia and Ingrid from Eslöv, Sweden

The lovely young women at the front desk were quite friendly and one of them offered a comprehensive tour of the home. Her English was excellent and her description of the details in the home- from the cheese maker to the chairs by the fireplace- offered an excellent insight into Andorran life. Would recommend. The toys lasts for half an hour. She also gave me a great 2 for 1 coupon to Grandvalira funicular.

Worth visiting for a view of local farming life. House and contents left untouched since 1947 and the way of life is brought to life by the local guide in a very entertaining and interesting manner.

A good chance to learn about the life of ordinary Andorran families at the turn of the 20th century. Very engaging tour given by the guide Robert. A short but worthy visit.

Visiting Casa Cristo was an amazing experience. The house shows the type of life that a poor or working family had in Andorra in the 18 to 19 hundreds, and feels almost as if its previous ocupants had just left. The tour guide is a very kind and knowledgable man, and his dog, Mel, is a sweet little thing.

The Comú d'Encamp showed some vision when they bought this abandoned time capsule of a dwelling. It is scrupulously preserved with the inhabitants' belongings on display so as to give the observer vivid insight into the details and structure of their hard and simple peasant lives.
This little museum is well staffed with charming informative guides who have done their homework. If you are in the country and wish to learn about its relatively recent social history, this house is a must to visit.

This was an unexpected delight. Many "ethnographic" museums contain a mixture of items from different sources to reflect the area. What makes Casa Cristo so special is that it is a house, frozen in time, when the elders of the five inhabitants has died and the 2 daughters moved to France. Complete with original photos of the family and so on. The guides helped make sense of the time warp.
Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Cal Cristo. The house is a time capsule which is well worth seeing. The guide was a true professional and she really made the tour something special. The rescued dog at the front door is sweet too.
