A child’s hand is easily filled

Before TV made it’s way into households, the circus was people’s best way to have an afternoon full of things you don’t normally see. The Harry Malter family park used to be the site where the Malter circus hibernated. They stopped the circus a long time ago and turned some attractions into something that’s part amusement park, part circus and part zoo. But everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, is worn out.
And there weren’t any big attractions (Elephants, lions, ... you know, stuff that can kill you) to begin with. The staff was almost all students. They where very helpful and polite, but if something where to really go wrong, you’d want adults to be there, no?

That said, this is a park which is aimed at parents with young kids. (2 to 6-7-ish). And they really don’t notice (nor do they care) if the cafeteria’s tables are a mess, if the attractions are coming apart at the seams, or if there’s none of the ‘wow’ stuff found elsewhere. My son had a blast. He touched Maki’s, stared down a skunk and ate ice-cream until his face looked like a guy who’s installing drywall.

I know enough of the circus industry to allow it to have it’s place in this world (check the PT Barnum docu on Netflix, you’ll be amazed), so in the end, I can only be somewhat gentle in my opinion. Harry Malter family park is fun for your young kids, but a thorough clean-up + a full history of the circus world and Malter’s place in it, aimed to inform adults, would really give it it’s place in this world. Right now it’s cheap entertainment for young kids. But it could be so much more.

Awesome animal parc, ideal for small children
Nov 2017 • Family
This is an ideal place to spend a day with small children. You can parc across the street and entrance is pretty cheap. You come in and the kids can immediately enter the animal parc and run around with guinee pigs, chickens, goats and reindeer. Going further into the parc you see all sorts of animals, like monkeys, mice, parrots, skunks, ring-tailed lemurs (you can actually go inside their cage and feed them), porcupines and more... You can ride a camel or take a train ride through the parc. There's also a circus show, a house of mirrors, a merry go round and a playground. And for Halloween the entire parc is decorated.

Very old and dirty
Jul 2017 • Family
The park has two parts: a zoo and a fun park/playground for children. The zoo part was OK, but not a great number. At the beggining, the children could go inside the place for goats, piglets and deers, and later also into the cage of litte monkies, which was fun, but the other parts were not really interesting. In the zoo part there are flotaing little boats for children, which could be fun, these boats were though very very old, dirty and boaring. The fun park part is little, boaring and so very dirty and neglected, I could hardly let my kid in any of the installations. Everywhere was thick dust, spider nets, bird poos, it was really disappointing. The buffet was smelly and looked not hygenic at all (e.g. rotten salads were transported out from the kitchen near the guests, whike they were eating, I could hardly beleive my eyes..) there were no healthy or appetising foods at all. All in all, it was disappointing.

Cirkus very fun. Accomodation ok

Parking
Ok.

Animals
The cages are ok. There was one animal(raccoon) that was pretty anxious(like neurotic and ill like). But the monkeys, camels, birds,mice,... Seem quite peaceful and well fed.
Not much in comparison to the well known zoo's but fun for the children.

Cirkus
I think the cirkus is the best attraction in this place. There should be more of these kind of things. Bravo for the artists!
This (I think is their unique selling proposition)

Playgarden
There is a lot of things for the kids to play on.
Bummer that some adults need to smoke there. I had just a little too mich of that(coincidence probably)

Toilets
The toilets were clean and baby stuff in place.

Resto
The wait time was long. But there was.plenty of room.

Hospitality
The personell was very friendly.

Great park for kids, could spend a day here!

Nice place for young children, although the park could use some renovation. The kids don't mind the older attractions and they love the activities: camel ride, circus show (1 hour), poney ride, water circuit, train ride, playgrounds, a small zoo, etc.
