Its a long climb up from the town to the castle however check with the tourist office when its open first. During the 12th and 13th centuries it changed hands many times between the Christians and Muslims.

This is a great castle for exploring. We were too late to go inside (weren't even sure if you can) but the walls are open at all times. Be warned. Only go if you have a good head for heights and don't go in the...More

A repaired Castle, not too much but just enough to make a visit on your own. Friendly people and exceptional skill in preserving the original aspect. I visited this place in 1985 and in 2017, both times it is truly enchanting. I Must congratulate the...More

A beautiful castle relatively un-visited in a wonderful town. There are tours most days, some in English, stop by the tourism office during the day near the main square.

This is an amazing castle. The tours are free and they are given on the hour at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 and twice more after siesta. Each tour lasts for about 50 minutes. The tour is given in Spanish by a very knowlegable person. You get...More
