We were able to do only 2 of the many activities over here during our visit - the mountain luge kart and the 1.5 KM zipline. The park itself is quite good, and also very clean. Greenery is abundant throughout the park. They also give transport between activity start points so you don’t have to walk much. If you want to explore the park though, you definitely need a quad bike (it’s a very big park). We saw the coloured earth, and even though they said it was 23 coloured earth, we thought it was the same as the 7 coloured earth in Chamarel. Entrance fee is minimal, so you can just get inside along with your group and spend time at the entrance.

For the activities, the pricing is relatively high for the zip lines, while the rest are reasonably. Luge kart is a great activity which we did, and you should definitely try it. It takes only 2-3 minutes, transport to and from the entrance is short, and it is also very cheap to book. Very thrilling activity. But the main activity is definitely the 1.5 KM Signature zipline. It’s the 3rd longest in the world, and the feeling of doing it in a flying (horizontal) position is just amazing.

You can easily spend a day here, but if you have other activities planned, then even half a day would be great.

We stopped here on our private tour of South Mauritius. We were given several different options on how to get around the park and decided on the quad bikes. What a great day we had. Stopped at several features like the waterfalls, the multi coloured earth and the giant tortoises. Our guide was excellent and we blasted over the rough terrain on the bikes having great fun. An experience we would highly recommend.

We did the zip line, luge and the quad. We enjoyed all the activities and the friendliness and professionalism of all the staffs.

We particularly enjoyed the quad with our awesome guide Yassin. He made the experience extremely memorable and enjoyable with the off the beaten track he guided us through. He helped in making the adventure course be a true adventure in all sense of the word with memories that will linger in the mind for a long time. Thanks Yassin.

We 100% recommend LVDC and especially the quad adventure course with Yassin as your guide.

Very expensive, chaotic rip off. Three rides: zip slide; rope walk and circular buggy trail for party of 6 (4 children), cost over £300. After rope bridge we had to wait 1 hour on side of hill for collection. Also long delays waiting for shuttle bus to rides. At the park for over three hours and only managed two underwhelming rides (zip line and rope bridge), before having to return to hotel because of transport, with the park refusing refund for activity not done. Unapologetic management blamed public holiday for delays, even though all the guests were tourists. Avoid.

I wish to discourage both Mauritians and tourists from going to vallée des couleurs.

I personally had a very bad experience at Vallée des Couleurs. We wanted to do quad biking, we paid for around MUR2,500 per person and we were a group of 4 pax. The ticket is a non- refundable one. We were requested to sign a form before the adventure. The activity was for a period of 1 hr. One of my relative fell down from the bike after 2 mins of the trip and we were requested to terminate the trip, one of the employee apparently checked the bike and deduced that the bike was not in operating condition. We have video showing that the bike was working normally even after the unfortunate event. The team claimed us MUR25,000 for damage of the bike even though the quad bike was in perfect conditions. We paid such a high price for the activity, we did the activity for only 2 minutes and did not get the services we paid for. On top of that we were requested to settle MUR 25,000 for a bike which was working fine. I have received feedback from other friends that this is a recurrent practice at Vallée des couleurs especially with tourists and would therefore discourage anyone from going there! It was a waste of time, energy, money.

There are many other places in Mauritius with great customer services where you can enjoy your quad bike.

Thank you

Hello Madam / Sir, I hope you are doing well. I am reverting back to you regarding the comment you left us. I can understand your frustration, but sir/madam, know that already at the check in counter it is written and posted on our screens and machines that we operate on a no refund basis, this is also mentioned on your receipt. So I think it's cheap to give us a bad feedback about this. When it comes to the refund, you should know that the price was to repair the damage caused to our quad and to pay the excess to our insurance. But as far as I know, you did not pay these Rs.25,000, what I remember and very well even, is that you ran away to avoid paying us the bill. So who is dishonest in the whole? Because you should know sir / madam that on the agreement form that we made you fill it is written and well stipulated that any damages caused to our property must be reimbursed. You have signed this form with your own consent and you have accepted to take all the responsibilities when hiring our services regarding our rules and regulations applied here at La vallée des Couleurs. It is not our fault if your relative is not a good driver, and not professional from your part to put a negative comment and discourage people to come and enjoy our amazing facilities in our park, which all of our other customers are fully satisfied. p.s.: I would be pleased to see the videos you have, and I would be pleased to meet you because it seems to me that you have more knowledge in mechanical terms than we do :) I look forward to reading you and meeting you, Sincerely yours, Social Media Officer

A definite must go to destination in the south of Mauritius. Very well organized and welcoming. You can enjoy as a couple or with friends or family. I took my friends who came from abroad on their honeymoon there and they absolutely loved it. The parc is huge and well preserved. We were approached by deers that roamed freely and were very friendly. It was endearing. We did the discovery trail which consists of a series of ziplines one of which leads to the top of a waterfall where you can cool off and get your feet wet. You get an amazing view of the south sea and green plains on one side and the mountains on the other. We were rewarded at the end of the zipline trail with a romantic restaurant by the waterfalls where you can freshen up as well. The whole place is pictureworthy. The guides and staff were very friendly and took amazing pictures of us on the ziplines which we bought for a fair price on our exit. Thank you team lvdc, especially Mehdi, Zubeir, Damien, Kate.

I had seen a couple of mixed reviews before I went but was pleasantly surprised about how well organised it was. I can only talk for the quad/buggy tour and the big zip line, but I would say you get what you pay for and the quality of service, equipment and safety was at a good level.
The entry/ booking of activities was pretty well organised and we didn’t experience any hard sell.
I would say that standard of facilities was also pretty good and I think it has been modernised only a couple of years ago. The quad and buggy tour was not rushed and our guide Suhai(I think that’s the spelling) was excellent, he took time to explain about what we were looking at and seemed genuinely intent on making sure everyone was engaged and entertained. The waterfalls are pretty impressive and a decent range of wildlife wandering around keeps you interested.
All the staff we met were friendly including the guys on the zip line who got everyone relaxed. The trip up the hill on the truck was good fun also.
We went on Sunday the 10th April and there was no waiting, we didn’t experience any hard sell of anything.
I would recommend it.

We took a package including Zipline and Quad. We started with the Quad but we had so much issues with the guide The Quad was stopping after each 2 mins since there was some engine problem and the guide keeps blaming me that I am going too slow. Finally he changed Quad with us after trying 7 times while we lost about 20 mins and we had to wait for someone to come and change the Quad. We had only one hour and we did like only 30 mins on the Quad. When we told him about it he just rudely said that he doesnt have time and he has lots of clients waiting. We came back to the reception and spoke to someone called Mehdee and fortunately he could arrange another Quad session with the best guide who is Yassin. Thank you so much Yassin for making this 20 mins Quad the best tour ever. And yes u’l also see a friendly cute dog and I posted his pic 😍

A very beautiful location with loads of activities and sports ti visit but very expensive soecially for the locals. The entrance free was Rs400 which is much for a mauritian ro pay to visit a locak spot. When we arrived, we were told that only one of the three restaurants were open! We went for La Biragade as we had no choice. We were shown the menu where we explicitly choose the 3 grilled fish at Rs350 to the waiter. It was served with chips and salades. The fish was great but I was the vegetables that came with it was even better! However what a surprise was it when were charged Rs850 for each instead of Rs350!!! The waiter then explained that the Rs350 meal was a smaller portion for kids - written at the very end of the previous page! Looks like a typical tourist trap! Prices at the Café next to the reception was also twice of the local restaurants! At the end, despite of the great locations; 7 coloured earth and waterfalls, to name a few, the 3 of us could not get rid of the feeling of having been ripped off for the food specially considering that the high entrance free.
