    One day in Chianti
I've visited Fattoria di Montemaggio with two friends, and the three of us were amazed by the beauty of this place (even though we are Italian guys, used to breathtaking landscapes). We were led through the vineyards and the vegetable garden, surrounded by magnificent nature, and as we walked we were explained the main steps to grow vines, to trim them and to select from them the very best grapes in order to produce high-quality wines; but there was more: we learnt a lot about Chianti, and about the techniques to obtain sustainable and organic food. Then came the moment for the wine tasting, when the guide showed us the proper gestures to enjoy a good glass of wine. We tasted six different bottles, and we ended with a little glass of grappa. Everybody from the staff was extremely kind, and helped us at choosing the best local trattoria for having lunch: it goes without saying the suggested restaurant was great. I strongly recommend to pay a visit to Fattoria di Montemaggio: it's an experience summing up the true essence of Tuscany.

A beautiful place and a great experience!
Make sure to visit this wonderful, small, organic winery in the countryside in Chianti near Radda. You are welcomed and shown around by the very friendly and informative winemakers themselves and the wine is amazing! Also no need to worry about COVID-19 precautions - everything is considered and tanken care of. Thank you from the three danes.

Highlight of our Chianti winery tour
Our driver arranged a visit here that included a comprehensive tour and tasting. Ilara was easy to understand and so friendly and engaging. She has a passion for this! It was a memorable day, and I cannot wait to return. They have cooking and painting classes plus one can stay there too. We shipped a case home. Fortunately a local wine store, Total Wine , is selling their Chianti Classico , and I bought a case before my state’s stay at home order.

Beautiful place for wine and nature lovers
I come from a wine region myself but the place exceeded all my expectations! Beautiful Tuscany in the background made the whole experience rather special. Fattoria is an organic winery about 50 km from Florence so if you are there, you have to visit! The tour cost us only about 25€ per person and took around 2 hours. The guide told us about the winery, its owners and wines of Chianti Classico. Then we had a wine tasting right on the terrace overlooking the beautiful vineyards. They brought a bunch of cheese, ham, and fresh breads to have with the wine and it was so perfect with the sunny weather and clean air.

    Lovely tour and tasting!
For our trip to Italy in June, I wanted to visit a small winery and was delighted that I chose Fattoria de Montemaggio! It's true it seems a little rough to get there, but we followed the directions and arrived with no trouble. My husband and I were greeted by Ilaria, the manager and she personally took us on a tour where we learned so much about the grapes, growing them organically and the whole process of making wine! Then we sat down for the tasting, which was wonderful Montemaggio is a gem and I recommend you visit also! We plan to again! We just received the wine shipment we ordered and it is all the more delicious as we remember our afternoon at Montemaggio and Ilaria!
Thank you so much for your words! To have feedback from our guests - is of the utmost importance for us to get better to make your next trip to Montemaggio even more memorable! We hope you will come back to visit us again and we would make sure that we can surprise you with new exciting products and render your next visit even more memorable! We are so glad the wine arrived safe and sound and your can enjoy it in the atmosphere of your home! Thank you again! Valeria

    Honeymoon in Tuscany
My husband and I visited MonteMaggio at the end of August 2016. While it was quite difficult to get to, we fell in love with the scenery and wine the moment we got there. We had a lovely tour of the grounds, including the vines, the garden and a spectacular panoramic view from the top of the building where we could look out over Tuscany. After our tour, we got to try a number of different wines, including Chianti Classico, Riserva, Rose, Chardonnay, Quinta Essentia and Torre. Ilaria guided us through the proper tasting process and gave us cheese, olive oil and bread to taste with our wines. She was so incredibly helpful and informative of how the wines were made and stored. We really learned a lot from them. We ended up purchasing a case of wine, including the Rose, Chardonnay, Riserva and Chianti Classico. We have shared them with our family and they all rave about the wines as well. We will definitely purchase more wine from MonteMaggio. Out of the 8 wineries we visited in a 4 day period, MonteMaggio was our FAVORITE - atmosphere, people and wine!

    Last minute tour
We called MonteMaggio on our way to Radda, a family of 5, and thankfully for us (not her) one of the machines they were to use that day to process the grapes was not working and it allowed Illaria to take us on tour on a last minute call in. She was very helpful from the beginning, unfortunately Google Maps/GPS led us down a path that was incorrect (follow directions on their site) and she was able to guide us to the winery via instructions she sent by email. She explained everything in great detailed, from the actually process to the tour of the grounds, and finished it off with an educational and excellent tasting of their wines. We all very much enjoyed the tour although perhaps due to our timing (lack of planning\calling ahead instead of the same day) the actual tour of the vineyards portion was a bit brisk but everything else was great. I would recommend the tour to anyone and I would definitely give it a go again given the opportunity. P.S. Total Wines in Plantation, FL had the Chianti Classico, Riserva and Torredi Montemaggio in stock. Definitely, recommend buying a bottle or two while you’re there though directly from the winery 

    Perfect Vineyard for Chianti lover
I visited this vineyard with my husband as a part of a short road trip through the Chianti region and it was the perfect stop. We organized a wine tasting ahead of time and our only regret is that we did not also organize a light lunch to go with it! We brought a few bottles home with us at a great price and now they sit on our shelf and remind us of a beautiful afternoon in a beautiful vineyard!

Beyond A Perfect Stay in Montemaggio
My husband and I visited Fattoria di Montemaggio and it was a first class experience, beginning to end! We enjoyed the fruits of the vines; Chianti Classico, Chianti Reserve, and the Rose. We loved each and every product! We also experienced the fragrantly crafted olive oil of Montemaggio, a true delicacy made to perfection. The rolling hills, the beautiful vistas, and the fantastic location made for a wonderful Tuscan getaway with some of the best wine in the region! We walked the property, saw the wine production first hand, and enjoyed the fresh air of Tuscany while sipping their specialty, chianti. We would certainly recommend Fattoria di Montemaggio to any one who is a wine lover and desires the finer lavishes of the region!

What a beautiful, welcoming visit we had. The vintner Ilaria took our family of six on a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, explaining all of the decisions and processes she goes through to make the wines. We ended with a sumptuous Tuscan lunch accompanied by a variety of Montemaggio wines. She went out of her way to explain all kinds of details to the kids. We were a little hesitant about a wine tour with three teens and an 11-year-old, but six weeks later this is one of the things they still talk about. Highly, highly recommended. We also shipped back a lot of wine, although I fear we didn't buy enough of the delicious rose.

While on holiday in Chianti, we stopped in to visit Fattoria di Montemaggio. It was a beautiful drive through the rural countryside to get there. We even saw a wild boar on the way! Don't doubt your map/GPS, keep going! We enjoyed a tour of the winemaking facilities and vineyard. They pick and sort the organic grapes by hand, and use natural fermentation. Our wonderful hosts entertained us with a perfect glass of wine and lovely appetizers on the patio overlooking the mountains and forest. Fresh figs were also ripe on the nearby tree, and we were able to take some home with us.
This is a beautiful vineyard to visit and gives an authentic look at organic winemaking. Highly recommend!

A nice vineyard that's located off the beaten track. Other than some difficulties in locating the vineyard, the experience more than made up for the effort. Did pizza making class with my family, and the host/chef was fabulous. Learnt the authentic way of making Italian pizza and had delicious pizza with ingredients straight from the farm/vineyard.
The vineyard tour and wine tasting was also an eye-opener. Learnt the authentic and family way of growing grapes, processing them and what makes Chianti Classico a class apart from other wines. Ilaia was very knowledgeable and forthcoming in sharing her experience and knowledge as a professional "wine maker"/"grape farming professional". Worth the time, effort, and money for wine tasting/vineyard tour/cooking class.
