The wines produced on the estate of Volpaia are among the best in the Chianti Classico area, and the cellars are well worth a visit.

Our hostess was incredible; she was patient and funny and helped explained the few complicated processes. She dined with us and we met her husband; by the end we felt welcomed and part of the family. The wine tour was great with Alicia and her English was excellent. We would recommend to everyone as it was a great way to... More

What a divine village (very dedicated to wine and food)!! We took a fabulous cooking class from Giovannella Stianti at the Castello's cooking school, and had so much fun with her...she is a great teacher & delightful person, our food was great, the free flowing Chianti Riserva was perfect, and the setting couldn't be better. I only wish we'd had... More

After spending a night in this lovely tiny medieval hamlet we took this tour. Castle and village are very well restored by the owner, nice story. That's just it... The guide showed a couple of rooms with barrels, gave some information but showed no passion for the wine or winemaking process. Tasting was good with three wines, olive oil, bread... More

I read about this perfect wisp of a hamlet cum village and it was better than anticipated. We started at Bar Ucci with two cappuccino and a delicious medieval fruit and nut cake just before the no frills Castello di Volpaia enoteca next door opened midmorning, All three of these establishments (the only ones in town outside of a handful... After a trip into Rhadda in Chianti we wanted to try some wine tasting. We spoke to the advisor at the information office who gave us a few options. We decided on Volpaia as the advisor mentioned it was a gorgeous medieval town on top of a hill. Wow, we were not dissapointed. The surrounding area was stunning. Rolling hills... More

This little town/village is one of the most romantic places I've ever seen even on TV. :))) It is as if you have taken it our from the Medeval times' movie or something. It must be visited. And by the way, its restaurants/osterias are worth it to be visited. ;)

A bit off the beaten path but worth the trek. We were the last tour of the day, on a Sunday, so it felt a bit rushed...understandable, though. End of the tour ended with a tasting in a private wine bottle "library". Fabulous!

We've enjoyed drinking Volpaia Chianti Classico & Reserva for a while, and to be able to visit the producing Winery was a special treat ! The tour was quite informative & interesting. Fascinating to see the old ways juxtaposed with the latest wine high technology. Fun winding stone stairway up to tasting room - nice pours of fine Volpaia wines.... More

Had a great lunch with a tasting of all their wines. Just perfect. The Chianti Classico Riserva was the best wine for me.

The trip up the mountain was beautiful. When we arrived we came upon a lovely village. We proceeded to meet with Giovanna (Jo) the owner of the winery. We entered the kitchen where we took an extended cooking class in Tuscany cooking with a twist in the recipes from Jo. The kitchen and the class were hands on and phenomenal.... More
