About Castello Monterinaldi
Book your private tour and become part of Monterinaldi by visiting the cellars, tasting the wines, learning our production philosophy. Pair our wines with local home made food, and enjoy the real Tuscan flavors. Several private events are offered at Castello Monterinaldi: cooking class, off-road adventure, hiking and more. Ask for the complete and detailed program. The Castle of Monterinaldi, situated between Panzano and Radda in Chianti, in the center of the historic zone of Classical Chianti, is near an ancient Etruscan track. This historic site is mentioned in a document written in December 1010, which refers to “the Count Gottifredo Gottizio, of Longobard stock and a gentleman of Monterinaldi.” At Castello Monterinaldi you are welcome every day!

As part of our 50th Wedding Anniversary tour we visited the Tuscany region of Italy staying in Cortona and then Florence. On the day traveling from Cortona to Florence we engage Mr. Maurizio Matassoni of Golden Travel (look for Tuscany Tours by Golden Travel) to visit several wineries and enjoy a lunch. Maurizio is a very personable and fabulous guide and we highly recommend his service. He selected Castello Monterinaldi as one of the wineries / vineyards to visit that day. We were greeted by Mr. Fabrizio Benedetti and given an excellent tour followed by a wine tasting. The wines are WONDERFUL! We bought a mixed case of wine to be shipped home including the PESANELLA and look forward to entertainer good friends to share memories of our trip. Make a note to seek out Golden Travel and Castello Monterinaldi.

We had an amazing lunch and wine tasting to celebrate US Thanksgiving abroad. The lunch and wine where great - the pasta may have been the best we had in our trip to Tuscany. They where friendly and inviting and the owner was very pleasant when we had our welcome glass of Aire Sparkling Rose. The meal and wine paired so well together (especially the chocolate cake and wine). I highly recommend a visit to this winery and the lunch.

Castello Monterinaldi is great! My family of 5 had the lunch and wine tasting there and it was great. The villa is beautiful, the food is great, and the wines you get to try are very unique to the region. Claudia was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine. She was very welcoming to my family. I would definitely recommend if in the Chianti region to visit Castello Monterinaldi. We went to many different wineries and this one overall was the best experience.

DO NOT GO HERE! The owner was SO rude and unwelcoming, we were quite shocked. We tried to ask her to recommend a wine and she replied very angrily, “I don’t know what you want!” She was almost spitting with hostility. We left straight away as we were shocked at her attitude. We found a charming and welcoming roadside bar 1 minute away which was lovely. Take a chill pill woman as no wonder the huge place was empty. Still reeling from the shock of her attitude!

Dear Sir/Madam, it's incredible to see how only two persons may leave three comments with different names, but that's it. I always look at critics as a suggestion to improve our relationship with the customers, and that kind of comments are greatly appreciated. I like to spend time to understand what can be done to fix our mistakes and offer a better experience to people coming at our winery. All of those comments help us to grow, are welcome and worth to spend time also for an answer. Unless they are telling a false truth. This is your case, so I just copy my answer again. You both entered our tasting room without explaining clearly what your wishes were. Maybe you don't speak or understand English properly, but even with some difficulty, the lady at the shop realized that you had to go to lunch somewhere (not with us, as reservations are required here) and then, while you wait, you would like a glass of wine. When you asked for a recommendation, the lady replied that she could only give you a suggestion by knowing your tastes, and asked your preferences. Not having an answer, she repeated twice, then showed you the possible choices of our red wines. At that point you asked for white wine, the only one that is not available for tasting. After wandering around our lounge without making any other requests, you exited. This happened at about 12.30, lunch time, when the shop is obiouvsly empty. Therefore, to say that the lady was rude is absolutely false and discredits our dedication to the utmost customer care. We have never offended anyone, while you offend our work, and you should be ashamed of this behavior. We always try our best to help and understand non-Italian speakers. For the future we suggest you explain exactly what your requirements are. Daniele Ciampi Owner at Monterinaldi Winery

Rudest owner lady ever. Worst experience on our holiday in Italy. We just turned back and walked away because of this lady's attitude. Absolutly disgusting. No wonder why the place was empty. You can find many places with much better service. We just wanted a glass of wine but clearly she hate costumers. Very dissapointing after what we experienced in Italy. First rude welcoming. Very sad.
