This was one of our first day activities in Bonito after Rio da Prata; please see my review on Rio da Prata as well. Many tourists do Buraco and Rio da Prata together since they are so close by to each other, and the two together fit perfectly into a day. And both are must see! This is a very... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Buraco. This is an old collapsed cave turned 125 meter deep sinkhole. We saw dozens of Macaws and a lot of them at very close range. Very cool to watch these birds interact with one another and get great pictures of them. We also saw Toucans, vultures and many other bird species. Our... More

Visited at noon, cloudy sky - have seen plenty of macaws, caiman, monkey, toucans, armadillo, sinkhole itself very nice. Plus perfect guide Gabriela. You can do this attraction yourself - dont need reservation thru Bonito agencies - big advantage - you will avoid crowds (we were only 2 persons at place).

It is a nice and easy trail to get to the cave (Buraco) and we saw some small animals on the way. The cave is really huge and very impressive. There are like 4 macaws there, because is not mating season (or something like that) and they are far away... Anyway, if you have spare time before Rio da Prata... More

Simple and quick excursion but worth the price of admission. Bring your camera and take lots of pictures of the beautiful maccaws. I recommend going early in the morning or at sunset for the best pictures and most action.

The sinkhole itself is in impressive structure, however the sight of so many scarlet macaws flying around and inhabiting this area was great to see. If you don't speak Portuguese, we suggest you have an interpreter with you, as a lot of information is given to you. Marcello, hired through Bonito tours, was very good.

This place has a large sinkhole that now is home to many macaws. It is located only about 15 minutes drive from rio da prata so if you go to rio da prata, you might as well add this to your schedule. The trail takes about an hour through the savanna and around the circumference of the sink hole. There... More

I really didn't know what to expect coming here, but I was so glad I went! This is a macaw's paradise and it was so beautiful to see them flying and calling to each other. We got to see many of them up-close. We had a private tour with our guide just because we happened to be the only ones... More

Together with a guide you are taken around the hole to spot the magnificent macaws. I recommend going early or late in the day when they are up and about so you are more likely to see them.
