If you want to visit Trollkonufingur, this is the town you'll need to park or at least drive trough. Beautiful scenery and a very special church indeed.

Beautiful Old Church
Aug 2019 • Friends
Worth a stop to see and get a fun picture. Beautiful scenery and a nice old structure. We were not able to go inside but the walk around the area is nice with some incredible views. Voted as one of the best kept towns on the islands.

BEAUTIFUL Church!
May 2019
This beautiful little church is one of my favorite things in the Faroes... and I didn't even go inside. :) I drove by it a number of times as I was exploring the islands and I stopped every time because it was so stunning at various points of the day in the different light.

Beautiful and charming

This is a small but beautiful and charming church. Visited just before service started to see the locals dress-code and customs is definitely worth.

Nice church

This church is located on a road connecting the airport to Torshavn and so as I was passing with my car I had a short stop to see it.
It is a quite modern church and inside there are a lot of object related to the maritime history of Faroe Islands.

THis church was a simple example that you do not need opulence to be beautiful. The church is simple nicely painted with large chandeliers and even have a boat hanging from the ceiling as a symbol of their ties to the sea.

Beautiful in its simplicity

Sandavágs Kirkja (Sandavágur (=sandy bay) church) was built in 1917.
It is known for its 13th century runestone. The inscription reads 'Þorkell Ônundar sonr, austmaðr af Rogalandi, bygði þenna stað fyrst.' Þorkell Ônundr's son, man of the east from Rogaland, lived in this place first. In other words: The Norwegian Torkil Onandarson from Rogaland was supposed to be the first settler on this place.
The church is very simple and to enter, you must remove your shoes, to keep it clean.
Outside the church there is a memorial for those who lost their lives in many ships that were sunk during the 2WW.

This church really is pretty. Situated overlooking the village and beach it is in an enviable position. It was locked on the day we visited but we walked round the grounds. really pretty and peaceful
