The place is lovely with an amazing view point!!

But do yourself a favour and only get tea or a snack from this place instead of a full meal.
Food is very mediocre with expensive prices and small portion sizes!
We ordered a chicken masala curry (Rs 1100/=) and received a ridiculously small portion of a typical sri lankan curry. Rest of the food was disappointing as well.

Situated at Hatton, Nuwara eliya Road, this is an amazing location with feel of a castle, here in Sri Lanka.
Views are wonderful and ideal place for a snack.
But, prices are bit high on main food items and food quality needs to be improved.Service levels needs to be improved as well.
Recommended to have tea on your way to Nuwara eliya.

During a long drive to the hills this can be an amazing stopover for a refreshing break. The chocolate cake is divine and the tea served is always the best (naturally). The tea castle is superbly designed and maintained to a very high standard. The views are breathtaking with the Devon Falls adding a pleasing sight to weary eyes. The tea kiosk / shop offers many items of souvenirs in addition to the variety of tea on sale.

It is our second time stopping at Mlesna Tea Castle. This time also we enjoyed a great breakfast with Ginger Tea. You can select and order your favorite sandwiches and tea recipe from their breakfast menu.
Restaurant staff provided fast service. It has clean and spacious washrooms.
They maintain a beautiful flower garden other than a tea shop.
We enjoyed the great view from the top flow viewpoint and took great photos.
We will not miss the Mlesna Tea Castle en route to Nuwara Eliya via Hatton road.

Beautiful small castle, where you can have delicious afternoon tea, lunch, tea tasting experience, nice views or simply just tea shopping. Very friendly staf. You can see Devon falls from the top of the building - worth to go and see!
We did the tea tasting session with explanation which is worth it. It was free of charge if you buy some tea later.
It gets quite busy in the restaurant.

When we reached there it was late afternoon , even then the staff welcome us and arranged tea and cakes for us, it was sunset the surrounding was just breathtaking ..the call of Azam was echoing from a mosque..the tea was served in a beautiful porcelain, it had the best color of tea and its aroma was un matchable, the cake was simple home made cake but so yammi, their show room had one of the fascinating tea pots collections, not cheap but worth buying, its is Noritake porcelain but exclusively made for the tea castle, we had a wonderful hour, highly recommended and must visit..
I do have beautiful pictures but unable to post them because add photo option is not responding!!

Situated near the Devon waterfall this tea house is a must .
Lovely views of the sounding area from the viewing deck at the top.
Also you can buy good quality tea at reasonable price.
Give it a try.

The Mlesna Tea Castle is almost opposite Devon Falls. Whilst it is strange to find a faux castle in the middle of the highlands of Sri Lanka, oddly it doesn't look out of place. The grey stone turrets blend it with the surrounding green tea bushes.
The building was two wings on one side the tea shop & museum and on the other the restaurant and gardens.
We only stopped for some tea & to stretch our legs. They sell a variety of teas which you can buy either by the cup of by the pot. They also sell a variety of other drinks, such as iced teas as well as sandwiches and cakes. The service was very efficient and our selection of black teas, with a small plate of juggery arrived very promptly. The teas were really tasty and freshly brewed.
The tea shop is just a larger collection of what Mlesna sells at its other tea centres around the county, all for similar prices.
If you're travelling between Hatton and Nuwara Eliya then this is a pleasant place to stop and take a break.

Whether it's the destination or an "on the way" stop, it's worth the trip. If nausea is a problem during the trip, try ordering ginger tea and chew the pieces left in the bottom of the cup. Symptoms leave within minutes. Delicious desserts! Beautiful retail store with helpful and attentive staff.

We stopped for lunch and while the shrimp salad was nice, the service was extremely slow. The shop is nice and there are fun artifacts/signs related to tea!
