Came here for our one year anniversary present! I couldn’t have thought of a better thing to do.
The owner, was a lovely gentleman and feed us with interesting facts about alpacas and taught us the difference between alpacas and llamas.
The alpacas go onto two walks a day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
We done the afternoon walk, so my alpaca was a bit tired and didn’t really want to play ball. But that didn’t ruin it for me.
The weather was lovely and we went on a hour long trek with the alpacas. After the trek had finished, we went into the gift shop where there was a myriad of alpaca themed gifts and homemade ornaments and clothing made out of alpaca wool.

Lovely place and highly recommended!!

Three friends and I visited Great Ground Farm today to enjoy one and one half hour with the Alpacas.
Drew, the owner had already selected four male Alpacas to be our walking companions. Before chosing one of the Alpaca each and setting off he explained how to lead the animals and behave around them. During the walk he chatted away and gave us lots of information on the animals and their wool. He has 24 Alpakas and each has been named and it is easy to see that he is passionate about his Farm. There are also two reindeer at the farm, but they are less sociable.
Apart from walking our "own" Alpaca we visited the paddock where the rest of the males were kept and the female enclosure too. They are such soft and gentle animals, and have the most amazing humm. Walking and being with them is super relaxing. You cant help coming away contented and happy 🙂
Cost of the visit is usually £25 per person.

We joined one other family for a lovely walk with each of us leading an alpaca. Wayne was walking with us and answering a myriad of questions from each of us. The alpacas were gorgeous and well-behaved. Their fleeces are so soft and thick and we were taught how to approach them and to stroke them. After the walk Wayne gave us a tour of The Shed and showed us what he does with the fleeces after shearing and the imaginative ways they can be used. It was a relaxing way to spend a couple of hours with some beautiful creatures in a lovely environment. Thank you Wayne and your fluffy friends.

What an amazing experience. It may of rained the whole time but that did not dampen our experience, we just put on our wellies and off we all went for a walk with the alpacas. I had a gorgeous alpaca called Pinnacle. The whole experience lasted about 1.5 hours. The walk through Drew's farm was lovely and you could see how much Drew loved his animals. This will definitely not be a one off for us we will be back!

We purchased an Alpaca Trek as something different to do and I am so glad we did. We had an amazing time. The Alpacas are so lovely and each are such little characters. There were 6 in our group and everyone had their own Alpaca to walk. We had 2 of the staff with us and they were so knowledgeable, I have learnt so much. The owner is so passionate about his animals. Not only does he do the Treks, but he also runs workshops for spinning and felting. You have to book for the treks, you can't just turn up. He has a website and he also has a Facebook page. Such an enjoyable time, I would definitely recommend it.
