Pebble beach Water is tranquil

I first visited this beach 40 years ago. What a transformation! There were a few fishing boats and few houses. Wow now there is everything but it is all build on dirt roads. So if you are not a native you might not like it.

Very little sleepy beach town

Not the most beautiful beach, or fancy or practical, but it does have something special, a peace and small town charm.

no idea why this place is popular

Tortugas looks like a run-down two-star resort somewhere in Egypt's backwaters. The beach and the desert join rather seamlessly. The heat is horrendous (did I mention the desert?), and although food options are plenty, most restaurants close early. Not recommended at all.

Only foreigner at the beach

If you want a beach with no tourist and good food around it, Tortugas is a good choice. It seems was a high middle class beach some years ago; many of the houses have no people. The problem is transportation; it took me almost half an hour to get a cab back to Casma!

Playa Las Tortugas

La Playa Tortugas, is the most attractive spa town of Casma. Tortugas is a good place for water sports because it has a clean and calm sea, even a little dangerous by the presence of rays.

In Tortugas you can tour the pebble beach and see odd formations due to erosion, as well as enjoy seafood, sea bass and sole which are the most requested.

From Casma there are regular passenger service throughout the year for visitors.

Great restaurants and cafes and overall one of the many beaches that North Peru has to offer. Definitely a must
