Our trip to Luciano's vineyard was the absolute highlight of our trip to the Bergamo / Lake Como area. Luciano, his family and friends were so welcoming, they made us feel like part of the family for the day! The vineyard is small, rustic and intimate, and the views on the terrace are spectacular. Definitely worth the drive from Bergamo or Lake Como. We can't wait to return!

Luciano and his family gave us a wonderful tour of their gorgeous vineyard located on the outskirts of Bergamo. He very kindly collected us from the train and brought us up through the beautiful villages in the mountains giving us a full tour the region.

The vineyard itself is just stunning with beautiful views across the countryside. Luciano, Gabriella and the lovely Marco showed us around the vineyard and then put on the most delicious spread full of local cheeses and meats to accompany the wine tasting. It was absolutely excellent. The wine was exquisite!

I cannot recommend this tour enough, the family are so passionate about what they do and don't they do it so well. An absolute must see if you're in the Bergamo region.

Thanks again to Luciano, Gabriella and Marco for a beautiful afternoon.

A fantastic experience.
The owner and his wife were very friendly. The tour in the middle of December was interesting and informative.
The views o the snow-covered wine field were breath-taking.
The process of wine-making was explained in detail, with a presentation of the machines and how they are operated.

Finally, the wine-tasting was so abundant and rich. The wines were amazing, enhanced further by the large amount of cheeses and cold-cuts accompanying them. The owner sat with us and it just felt like home.

Would definitely recommend and be back!

I visited Bergamo a couple of weeks ago and one thing that I know is that I will never forget the visit at Le Driadi Slow Farm. I visited with my parents and boyfriend.

I contacted Luciano after having read about this vineyard on TripAdvisor. He answered really quickly and answered all of my questions that I had before our visit.

We stayed in City Alta in Bergamo and he picked us up in his car and drove us to the vineyard free of any extra charge. He took the old road through small villages and told us some history and showed us the beautiful surroundings. When we arrived his wife Gabriella and their lovely dogs welcomed us. They showed us around both outside around the vines and there we tasted and learned about the grapes. After that we went inside and there we learned about the production. We had a lot of questions and Luciano answered them happily. It was so interesting!

After the tour, it was time for the tasting. They had prepared for us on the patio overlooking the valley with two wines from their vineyard and one sparkling wine from their friend. Gabriella had prepared delicious local cheeses and salami that also were from friends. It was lovely to hear about their collaborations with other local producers. My boyfriend has an allergy to cheese, so Gabriella instead prepared some delicious salsiccia and other salami for him. That was a show of really good hospitality! We got a lot of cheese and salami so the visit was perfect to have in the evening as a dinner. Luciano guided us through the wine tasting and we learned a lot. The wine tasted really good and even better when we learned more about it. We also bought some bottles to take home with us to Sweden.

We have been to wine tastings before but this was the best experience we all have had. It was so genuine and we all felt the passion Luciano and Gabriella have for their vineyard. They don't do this because they want to grow bigger and bigger, they do this because they do what they love and it really shows on the visit. If we come back to Bergamo we will reach out to Luciano and visit them again because the meeting with them was so inspiring and beautiful. We recommend everyone that enjoy wine and want to have an experience they will remember to visit Le Driadi Slow Farm.

Thanks again Luciano and Gabriella for your lovely hospitality. We hope to see you soon again!

This winery is lovely situated on a hill with a fantastic view and has clearly been created with love and care. Gabrielle and Luciano rescued the grapes from this once abandoned vineyard by diving into its history and using organic methods. The wine is lovely and served with lots of great local foods.

However, Luciano and Gabrielle especially make this tour worth booking because they are amazing hosts and clearly love what they are doing. Their enthousiasm for the place and the wine is amazing and they really spoiled our family with food, wine, coffee and other drinks and we spend many hours at their place talking about wine and other parts of italian culture.

We strongly recommend anyone to take this opportunity to get a private wine tour with the most amazing hosts in probably all of Italy.
Thank you do much Luciano and family! Love from Holland.

We are three friends travelling in and around Bergamo for an extended weekend. One of us had booked a wine tasting at La Driadi as a surprise event for the second day of our trip.

Luciano had graciously offered to pick us up at our nearby Agriturismo but we were out walking and accidentially arrived at La Driadi earlier than we had agreed. Despite being way too early, Gabriella kindly welcomed us and Luciano arrived shortly after.

What followed were an absolutely fantastic three hours. Luciano walked us throug their vinemaking process and their succesful conversion to organic production.

We subsequently tasted some of the wines and enjoyed local food while sitting on the newly constructed terrace (on top of the cellar) with spectacular views of the open landscape. We all felt like we were experiencing a small piece of paradise for an elusive moment in time.

Above all though it was Gabriella & Luciano’s hospitality that made the entire experience into memories that will last a life time.

Grazie Mille Gabriella & Luciano.

Our private tour of to Le Driadi Slow Farm recently was the highlight of my weekend break in Bergamo. I was there with a friend just before the harvest. Luciano was very accommodating and helpful from the first day I’ve sent him messages with my imperfect Italian. He also speaks excellent English which made things much easier for us. We were picked up from a convenient place where we parked our car and was taken to his estate.

The estate was small, but very charming with all merlot grapes still on the vines. Luciano gave us a very informative and detailed guided tour explaining the organic and biodynamic way of growing the merlot grape variety and making wine in his estate. His family joined us too and we could see the passion him and his family have for wines and producing wines. Their passion reflected in our excitement of being there and learning new things . We got to pick up and taste grapes directly from the vineyard, had long conversations about the production of wine (we even crushed some grapes and put into the “rifrattomento” to see the sugar level in the grapes) and got to taste 5 wines with a lot of local cheese and cold-cuts.

We stayed there more than an hour, which was the time allocated to us for the wine tasting. Luckily there was no other guided tour after us, which gave us the opportunity to keep talking about local wines, cheese and life in Bergamo. We felt like we’ve known Luciano for many years. We also got the opportunity to buy some of his wines.

I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in wine. It is an immersion in the full experience – growing the grapes as well as producing the wine. Luciano’s passion for organic / biodynamic wine is infectious. Fantastic effort and very impressive.

We went there yesterday, my father and I, and we both agree that it was a definite highlight of our vacation in Italy.

We got a tour of the very idyllic wine-yard, where Luciano told us about the different aspects of owning a wine-yard and how the grapes are analysed, and what makes a good grape. Afterwards we were shown and told how the wine is made.

The tour ended on their terracce, where there is a beautiful view of the valley. Here we tasted the different wines and some local cheeses, honeys and sirups. Luciano and his wife sat with us as we also tasted some newly bottled wine - And they told us about life in Italy.

All in all I would recommend the experience to everyone - There is good wine and great company, as both Luciano and Gabriella are very open and heartwarming people - Not to forget their two lovely dogs.

Thank you to Luciano and Gabrielle for their hospitality and warm welcome. It is an amazing small wine yard with the most beautiful view. We were ten friends who visited the farm and the guided tour, the wine and the food was absolutely wonderful. We probably overstayed our visit but the hosts were so nice to us, offered us coffee and as much wine as we wanted. One of the best experiences we had in Pontida!
