Amazing Coast to Coast ride and touring in Italy

Our experience with Road Bike Tours Italy was fantastic. The tour was excellently organized. The tour host rider, Nicola, and the tour host Van driver, Niccolo, were wonderful. They anticipated our every need, always had the van available for rest stops, helped us with bicycle maintenance and ebike battery charging, and modified the general tour itinerary to allow us to visit spots spontaneously. They were the best tour guides that we have ever had on any trip (biking or hiking) over the last 25 year period!
One very nice amenity of Road Bike Tours Italy is that they have a van constantly available for guests that can fit all the guests and bicycles in it. This is especially nice when it rains. No one is forced to stay on the bike in the event of wet, wind, and cold....unless the riders want to be in the weather.
We started near Pisa on the Mediterranean and ended up in Senigallia on the Adriatic for a wonderful Coast to Coast tour of Italy through Tuscany, Umbria, and Il Marche. The ride takes you to all the wonderful medieval towns in Tuscany and Umbria - Volterra, Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Assisi - then through rolling hills, vineyards, and orchards into the two days of mountain climbs and alpine plateaus crossing over the Apennines. Although the mountain climbs were challenging, the high alpine plateau was magnificent. Once over the Apennines, the descent to the Adriatic coast is only a half day ride and you are at the beach!
The hotels were excellent and almost everyone of them had swimming pools, which was nice after a day of riding. The food was good and representative of each region we passed through. We knew of a restaurant in Assisi that we wanted to go to and the guides were able to make reservations there, so the flexibility and spontaneity was delightful.
The availability to use ebikes makes it possible for any age rider to participate. Our group was aged 66 - 70 years. If you want a unique bike trip with amazing towns, countryside, informed guides and food unique to the region, you should consider this trip.

A terrific Dolomites tour (custom itinerary) was arranged by Luca and his team for our group of 7 riders. Absolutely fabulous, from beginning to end. The attention to detail, the constant support, the deep knowledge of the area, of the routes, the hotels and eating establishments were unparalleled. I have been on numerous cycling tours in Europe and the performance of this group far exceeds all of them. They have a genuine love of the area, a joy of cycling, and a commitment to make sure the client is safe, fully and constantly supported and getting the maximum enjoyment from the cycling. Our group had varied skills, and route options, and Richi and his team expertly adjusted their plans daily/hourly, to make sure all of us had perfect coverage.
I would unhesitatingly recommend Luca, Richi, and their team for a cycling vacation. I am surely planning a return trip with them. Thank you Luca, thank you Richi for an unforgettable trip.

Ricci and Luca organized hands down the best road bike tour in Italy for us and went out of their way to ensure we had a phenomenal experience! They were always there for us, super responsive and always keen on ensuring we had the best experience. The experiences - wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting were fantastic and the bikes and all other equipment was in excellent condition and they took the time to fit it well to our individual needs. Luca took great pictures for us and I cannot recommend them enough for the personalized experience we got. We will definitely be doing this again in the future.

A spectacular adventure: fun biking trails on routes tailored to our abilities and interests, comfortable hotels, quality restaurants and skillful oversight by Richi & Roberto. The entire trip was a joy, but the attention to detail and the expertise provided throughout was exceptional. Richi and Robi are engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining company - their presence throughout the week added enormously to the pleasure. It was well organized and wonderfully complemented by delightful weather & stunning scenery. The bikes, themselves, were superb quality and there were no mechanical issues - not even a flat tire - during 6 days of riding. I would happily book another trip with Road Bike Tours Italy and unhesitatingly confirm the other complimentary review.

What an incredible bike trip with an incredible company!
We biked from Damaso on Lake Como to Canazai North of Venice over a 5-day period, and Richi went above and beyond to make sure our trip was fun and went smoothly. He worked with us to fit our bikes and helmets the day we arrived so we could start on time the next day, and everything went smoothly from start to end on the entire trip.
We chose not to have a guide and yet he still checked in with us several times each day at different points along the trail. Our dinners were phenomenal, from the family-owned vineyard to the old flour mill with the waterfall running behind and underneath, and our hotels were mostly family-owned and very accommodating! The scenery was breathtaking and different everyday, from the Alps to the Dolomites, and the apple orchards, castles, and the many churches of Northern Italy. I highly recommend this company. We're talking about potentially doing another trip in the next few years and if so, would use them again!

Simply amazing and a lifetime experience biking in Tuscany. The vistas, experiences (wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting) and the world famous vistas while riding were superb. Thanks to Luca and Richi, who were with us at all times to make it safe, thoroughly enjoyable and very memorable. Richi/Luca went out of the way to make sure everything was perfect. Personally, for me they spent extra time to align my bike shoes to fit perfectly on my bike pedals (thanks much for that extra attention to detail), which made riding a joy.
You will see a lot of choices for bike tours in Italy, this tour group will give you the most personalized experience and will work diligently to make it happen.

We had a wonderful week of biking lead by Luca, Richi, Lorenzo and Robi. We had great bikes to use. The route was scenic, at times the climb was challenging but the reward was a glorious downhill. All four guys worked so hard, leading rides, making sure nobody was left behind, driving, taking pics, videos, hauling luggages etc.. They were attentive to our needs and made adjustments as needed. They are also really nice and low key guys. Robi had won races as a professional biker not to long ago but I would have never known except a friend googled him. The food and lodgings were all nice, sometimes too nice you don’t wish to bike on;). If you want to bike in Italy, let them lead the way.

Wonderful routes, places, flexibility, attitude and service!
Just can't say enough good things about how much fun it was to travel with Ricci and Nicolo. They are serious cyclists, know the routes, know the local places, and know what you need to comfortably stretch your cycling experience - if that's what you want.
Ours was a custom tour with riders of varying ability and ambition, and the support was amazing. Various riders did different segments and they were always where we needed them.
Highly recommended!

There is no better way to see the real Italy and experience the lifestyle away from the major cities. We did the Coast to Coast ride and had an amazing experience. From the rental bikes (a brand new Giant with Di2 and set up for the occasional climbs that come with the route, and a top quality de Rosa ebike!), the routes, different restaurants and stays to the wonderful attention from Richi and Mattias, this was a first class experience. While there were many highlights, the ability to visit small towns and see life on a daily basis was wonderful. The routes were chosen with care and our guide and driver were always cheerful and supportive! And the food! And the wine! If you are considering a cycling trip to Italy, the small group experience is the way to go. (We met a group of about 25 Trek Travel cyclists and I remember thinking - sure glad we weren't one of them!)

The Coast to Coast Tour with Road Bike Tours Italy was an extraordinary experience. With a great group of like-minded people and 2 excellent guides we had a truly fantastic time. Luca and Richi were so friendly, supportive and professional - we were in great hands! The riding is such that riders of differing levels could all cruise along at a tempo or if you felt like it, push hard and challenge yourself at your own level. The scenery throughout Tuscany, Umbria and Marche was stunning, with every day providing great roads, some challenging hills and at the end of the day a quality hotel and great food. I had an awesome time and can't wait to go back for another Tour. Thanks again Luca and Richi.
