This walk was easy to follow (although the yellow arrows were a bit patchy towards the top. It took us twox 70 yr olds50 minutes to walk up & 30 mins to walk down. The walk starts to go uphill through a series of wide steps almost as soon as you start and then turns into navigating large boulders and sloping rock faces for the rest of the uphill climb. We absolutely loved it - just the right amount of challenge, not too long, but almost meditative as we searched for footings on the rocks. We made one mistake near to the top & turned right to follow what looked like a well worn path- fortunately it ended shortly after & we were able to retrace. So our advice is to keep left over the rocks near the top. When we got to the top it was beautifully quiet & were privileged to see 2 eagles soaring around close by. On the way down we disturbed a cute dark grey wallaroo sitting next to the track munching on a bush. Perfect experience in a mercifully cloudy day. Especially as we had tried the Hollow Mountain track the day before & had to give up because we couldn't find the way up!

Really really cool hike, short but fun - lots of clambering and great views pretty much from the get go. I started at 8am and was the only one there for a while as I sat at the top admiring the views. Wildflower season started and because of warmer weather lots of flys so dress appropriately.
There is a dirt road to get to the Mount Zero Picnic Area (I drove from Horsham) which also has a toilet and a path to Mount Stapylton. The road is suitable for 2WD as I have a small hatchback and I drove slow which was fine.

Located at the northern tip of the Grampians via an unsealed road you will find the Mt Zero Picnic Ground which has access to various walking tracks. There are massive granite flows and walks up the hills with great views.. Not to be missed if in the Grampians or Horsham. Too bad about the unsealed roads.

Lovely and fairly easy walk from Mt Zero picnic area. Along the way you will see plenty of flora and fauna. At the summit it offers amazing views of the Grampians and surrounding district.

The other side of the picnic area is also worth a look as you can climb up mountain easily
