This is a beautiful Chinese Shrine in the heart of Phuket Old Town. Also known as the Shrine of the Serene Light, this Taoist Temple is a hidden little gem The main entrance is a nondescript narrow gate on the main road. The temple is colourful and very pretty even if all you want is a photo opportunity.

We stopped in here after having an exquisite lunch at Tu Kab Khao across the road. Very nice little shrine, an oasis really in Phuket town. Well worth 10-15 minutes to have a looksie.

This is an over hundred years old Chinese shrine of Phuket. It has many names like “Teng Kong Tong Shrine” or “Sing Jia Kong Shrine,” or “Am Teng Kong Tong.” In 1891 Luang Amnat Nararak, a Chinese senior government officer, built this shrine on Phang Nga Road for worshiping, storing his Chinese deities and gathering his family. It is a very serene and beautiful shrine built in Hokkien Chinese style. The wall art and stonework is very artistic. In 1997 this shrine received the Conservation Award by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

A small, colourful and peaceful Chinese Shrine. A tranquil pocket in Old Phuket Town good for a short meditation session to pay respect. Nice street passage to keep the noise of the bustling Old Town. Its definitely a nice spot to just to be in peace and take photos. No entrance fee, no smoking, and no shoes in the temple.

Ordinary small Chinese temple (Do check out street arts on its wall on the way in)

Nothing much inside the temple. Nothing unique too.

Only the street arts on its wall on the way in are worth your time.

Note that the location on the Tripadvisor map is incorrect, but you can easily find the correct location by grabbing a free map from the tourist office or looking at some of the maps located around the old town district. The shrine is small but quite nice and is worth a quick visit as you explore the area.
