Hapuna Beach is an amazing beach on the Big Island. If you stay on the west side of the island and want to do a beach day, this is the place to go. It's easily drivable from Waikoloa and is a pristine white sand beach...More

If it's a nice windy day bring your boogy boards because you are in for a treat. Beach is not a long but absolutely stunning. And it has various covered areas for lunch that are protected from sun if you need a little shade.

White sand, turquoise water...wide open and plenty of space. If you're a beach lover and love a classic beach, it is definitely worth a visit!

Hot, and beautiful. Be sure to take an umbrella if you want to be near the water, otherwise there are pavillions to get some shade but its quite a bit away from the shore.

was a great spot for snorkeling, near the rocky parts, and for building sandcastles. There were a few waves so we didn't swim much with our 3 year old but she loved playing in the shallow water and in the wonderful sand. good bathrooms and...More

Lovely beach. Nice waves. Lifeguards on duty. The state park charges $5 but that is a bargain. Food is available. Not much shade on the beach but shade can be had in pavilions. Bathrooms are not great but adequate. Showers located right off the beach.

What time did you go if I want to snorkeling at Hapuna Beach. I heard that you have to be there in the early morning to see turtles and fish.

Hi there! We usually went in the later morning for a few hours. But truthfully, we didn't see any turtles and only some fish near a rock. We were told about a snorkelling place (as we were leaving of course lol), that was... More

Yes, you can! All beaches are public & you can access them after hours, you can even swim, if you want, but it will be at your own risk: it will be dark during winter hours and no guards on duty. You can park your car at... More

Does anyone know anything about renting umbrellas and chairs in October? I read somewhere that they do rentals during the season, just curious if October qualifies. If not, where can I rent for a decent price?

You have a shoreline with trees so you might not need an umbrella but you do have allot of sand area as well there you can have both sand and shade
