We went here as part of a 6 destination tour on Labaun Bajo (others included Komodo, Pink Beach, Kanawa etc). We had a really good guide called Alex and he explained that we needed to be quick to enter here as otherwise the mantas swim away. We jumped in and luckily saw a group of small mantas playing! they did swim a way 30second later although then saw a very big manta a bit deeper down. Get a good guide who knows the spots.

Manta Point is a standard stop in a multi day Komodo island tour. It’s an area where they congregate, particularly around the winter months of June-July.
We stopped in on the 1st of October 2024. The guide warned us that their numbers do dwindle a bit over this period.
There were a lot of boats, which send out tourists fully of dinghy’s to ‘drop’ on them. It’s a bit hectic.
We had half a dozen encounters over about an hour and a bit. My wife was able to see a school of 5, which was the biggest group spotted for the day.
The current was fairly strong and so if you’re not a good swimmer you might struggle a bit.
I dont think this attraction is done individually. I think it’s a standard stop on most of the multi day boat tours.
Overall a great experience.

Worth seeing as a diver. A drift dive because there is usually a current and manta rays are almost guaranteed not to depend on the tide. But it is questionable how long they will still be there. It is not very deep and snorkeling tours are also offered there. The water is boiling with Asians who can't even swim properly and hold on to everything that swims past them.
Loud shouting and several boats trying to stay close to their non-free-swimming customers.

Currents is pretty strong, make sure you’re good swimmer as can swim back to your boat. Boat captain strongly suggest us to put on flippers.
When boatman spotted Manta, they ask us to jump. You may snorkeling or dive into. Is pretty deep actually. Manage to spotted 3 Manta at the same time.

The boat captain had warned us that weather may not permit us to go there and we may not see manta rays even if we went. but we did go and we did see Manta Ray's, about 6 or 7 including some very large and friendly ones. the current if VERY strong here, just off a sandy bank, which is probably why the Rays like to cruise here. but it's beautiful watching these lovely creatures cruise effortlessly up and down like fighter jets. one tip is if you are not a strong swimmer like me and worry about the current? some operators do use a small boat to take you next to the manta ray and the water is so clear u can see them very well. I booked with Up and Up Komodo

when we were there. we weren’t good swimmers so it proved a little hard for us to enjoy. but i did spot a manta ray gliding perhaps four meters below. this part of the ocean was a little deep and dark to see clearly.

One of the snorkeling places to visit during Labuan Bajo. Actually, the manta or some kind of fish like to swim wherever in the surrounding sea, but based on observations from a long time ago, this place is often the place where the manta crowded.
Even though it was slightly swirling, I remained curious, and fortunately the pas snorkeling (on the surface, with the shelter) seemed clearly the manta-manta's great variation even there was almost my size haha, scared but excited.
