We booked the full day hike (12 waterfalls) with Prakash of Green Discovery (WhatsApp +23057608367) after reading all the positive reviews. We had a great time and would strongly recommend Prakash as a guide. First tip - if travelling a distance to arrive at 9.00 at Henrietta then take into account rush hour traffic - thankfully Prakash and the Group waited patiently and we made it by 9.15. Second tip - it is quite strenuous so you need to be fit and agile. Myself and my wife are relatively fit for our age (59 and 55) but at times with our short legs struggled to keep up with the rest of the Group composed of late teens/twenties. However we made it and felt a great sense of achievement as well as enjoying the amazing scenery and info about the flora. A highlight was tasting pink peppercorns straight off the trees. Prakash managed the pace perfectly and helped my wife navigate stepping stones as well as providing tasty snacks and lunch. We were happy admiring the waterfalls and dipping feet in the pools but for the adrenaline junkies there was the opportunity for jumping and swimming under the falls. A memorable day. You can see photos of the hike/views on the Green Discovery facebook page.

WOW, what a beautiful place. Make sure you include this in your itinerary when visiting Mauritius, it's not a place to be missed. The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed being able to swim in these beautiful spots.

The hike was brilliant. It can be physically demanding in some places, but just make sure you get a guide to help you along the way. It's super easy to get lost here without one so as a tourist book a guide.

We booked a full day hike with Prakash from Green Discovery (whatsapp +230 57608367). Well priced tour and Prakash knew all the key spots to take us to get the best views, swimming spots and pictures. We had lots of opportunities to admire the beautiful waterfalls and swim, and a lovely lunch was included. Prakash is friendly with a great sense of humour and very knowledgeable of the area - I'd definitely recommend booking a full day hike with him.

Enjoy visiting this wonderful place!

We found Sanjeev on a comments section of trip advisor. He is a local guide who took me and my partner to the 5 waterfalls (short hike), which took around 3 hours. He was very kind and took his time, taking lots of photos for us before showing us the best swimming spot. It was nice to use a local independent guide rather than a tour company safe in the knowledge that the money went straight to him and his family. Would highly recommend Sanjeev who can be contacted on WhatsApp +230 5815 4375

Perfect half day hike along the waterfalls. Like many people wrote before, we also think it is necessary to take a guided tour. The trail is really hard to find.
Because of many excellent reviews we decided to book a guided tour with rajadventures. This was the best decision. The contact was very easy via WhatsApp +230 5915 5178.
Rajs son Mervin, a very sympatic young man, guided us along the waterfalls. He did not only show us the trail. He also explained a lot about the Flora and Fauna and showed us many great spots for pictures.
We felt very comfortable with him and he took a lot time to explain everything to us.
After the hike we were invited for some refreshments at his home, which his mom Shoba prepared for us. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the chat with them.
Today was not only a trip to the waterfalls, it was a great day to learn a lot about the mauritian hospitality.

Last but not least:
Be aware of fake guides without any licence at the bus station right before the trail. They are not equiped for example with a first aid kit.

My husband and I had the most exiting time at Tamarin Falls!

Thanks to our great guide Prakash (Prakash Greendiscovery +230 57608367) we were able to experience a really awesome hike.

We decided on hiking the first four waterfalls (takes approx. 2-3 hours) and Prakash showed us the best places to jump from a cliff, climb down a tree and generally showed and teached us everything of interest in the stunning nature around Tamarin Falls.

We would not have been able to do this trip on our own and we definitely recommend a guide if you really want to fully enjoy the trip with everything it has to offer! The price is fair and you really can learn a lot about Mauritius!

We went to tamarin falls with Sanjeev (whatsapp: +230 5815 4375) who was a great guide. He arranged transport for us from flic en flac, gave us a great tour at a reasonable price. But above all was super friendly and we even went back to his after the tour for beers and a home cooked lunch from his mum! Really great experience and I can't recommend him enough.

Great half day trip (5cascades with lunch containing starters, main meal and drinks on local restaurant- what you won’t get on other companies) with Prakash Isram +230 5760 8367.

First of all, the trip itself is quite impossible to do on your own, because it’s challenging to know sometimes where to go further.

Second of all, Prakash is very nice he understands all participants needs. He was not pushing us further if we wanted to stay longer on particular waterfall. The group he is collecting is very small in comparison to other ones met during the walk. He was showing us very interesting thingies about local nature like berries we could try straight from the bush , the sugar cane juice from field etc. Prakash has great knowledge about the Island and can answer to any question you ask (not only about waterfalls). He is very helpful when attempting to more challenging climbing ways.
Definitely recommending trekking with Prakash!

Thank you very much Prakash for your true engagement in making everyone’s trip perfect and satisfactory.

We organised our guide Wesley at
short notice and he was friendly and efficient straight away meeting us an hour after we called him to start the hike at Henrietta.
It’s essential to take a guide on this walk so that you get the local knowledge, don’t get lost and stay safe as you navigate the sometimes tricky and steep terrain.
This hike has total wow factor with amazing views as you wind your way down the side of the waterfalls. Take time to enjoy the views.
We had a half day and managed to the top of the 5th fall. Would recommend a full day to do it justice and ensure it’s not rushed.
The highlights are the amazing views, swimming at the bottom of one of the falls and surviving the steep sections both on the way down and as you climb back up.
Wesley was extremely helpful and informative ensuring we stayed safe and helping us get fantastic photos at every opportunity
He’s easy to contact on whatts app +230 5718 4966 , highly recommended him.

The highest cascade can be easily reached by walking on the path using any tourist map (eg. maps.me). From the parking spot it can take aporox 20 mins. Also viewpoint on the level 2-4 th cascade (from the top) can be reached using same map. Just do not cross the river and return back same way, once you get top the hill, turn left and continue the dust path.I can confirm maps.me are accurate. To reach viewpoint (when going from first casdade) can take you 30 mins. Totaly it takes no more then 1.5 hrs by easy walking.
Be aware of local "tourist catchers". They are waiting for your arrival and trying to create an impression that without their advise you can not go anywhere. Do not trust them, especially when you plan to visit only the highests cascades as I described.

The hike of the 7 waterfalls was definitely one of the most beautiful experiences we had enjoyed during our vacation to Mauritius. The views, the nature and the amazing swimming in the refreshing water of the waterfalls are definitely worth the effort of climbing. The route was a bit muddy - make sure you take good trekking shoes. We would recommend taking a guide as the path is not marked and you might lose lots of time and nerves to get through.. Prakash was amazing!! He made sure everyone was safe at all times and encouraged even the office, chubby 😊 and not at all trained people like us could enjoy the day without worries! You can find him at Green Discovery +23057608367. Our teenage daughter loved hiking with him and enjoyed every explanation about flora and fauna. Look no further - Prakash is the best!!
