About
Upper Reach is a family owned and operated boutique winery, on the banks of Perth's Swan River. We'd love you to come for a wine tasting at our crisp, clean Cellar Door with huge views of the vineyard. You could be anywhere, but you're only 30 minutes drive from Perth! The only accommodation on a vineyard in the Swan Valley is the Upper Reach Spa Cottage, this historic two bedroom cottage has been fully restored for you to enjoy 'owing a vineyard' for the night- there is just one cottage so your privacy is assured! Our aim at Upper Reach is to produce wine of the highest quality from estate grown fruit, each wine reflecting both the vineyard and the particular vintage.Upper Reach is one of the top Swan Valley wine producers, with an extensive list of wine show awards. We believe that wine is one of life's essentials along with good food, family and friends. Come in for wine tasting in a relaxed, inviting setting every day of the week, 11am until 5pm.

    Beautiful day at the winery
Today we had lunch at Upper Reach Winery it was a very windy day but we still sat in the verandah to admire the views. The service was good, the food was very delicious as usual especially the octopus,Kingfish and blue swimmer risotto was to die for. Thank you to the chef for the fantastic meal. PS. We had a bottle of your beautiful Grenach Shiraz which complemented our meal.
Delicious food and beautiful wine with a great view. We look forward to having you enjoy it all over again soon.

    Delicious lunch
We had the best lunch here, one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Scallops were perfectly cooked and chorizo and goats cheese entree perfection. Chargrilled Kingfish main...fish with amazing steaky flavour and the best, fall off the bone, duck I have ever had. Outdoor settling was pleasant and Service was good. Desserts were generous but we were almost too full to enjoy. We were doing self drive of valley and so glad we chose to eat lunch here. Highly recommended.
Thank you for discovering Upper Reach. We are thrilled that you had a wonderful experience.

A perfect night out once again
An absolute highlight of every year is to enjoy the most delicious Rose I’ve ever head, in a picnic rug, under the stars at the Twilight Picnic Concerts. Adam Hall and the Soul Playboys were as fabulous as always. So much singing and dancing. 10/10 for a brilliant experience
Thank you for your wonderful review, the Twilight Concerts are always a great evening. Hope to see you again soon for some Rose.

    Very Pleasing Experience
Nice wines and quality food within lovely vineyard surrounds. $75 three course ($65 mid week) was good value. Food not perfect but still of a high standard. Duck dish was a standout as were the desserts. Definitely will return, one of the finer food options in the Valley.
Thank you Darren, for your honest feedback. We will be delighted to have you visit again.

So glad we decided to visit!
Stunning setting and incredible food. We popped in on a whim for some wine-tasting and just had to stay for lunch!! We shared some plates and were totally blown away by the quality and taste. Big thumbs up - will make a point of coming back!
Overlooking the vineyard from either the Restaurant, Treehouse Pizza Bar or the deck is amazing. So glad we get to share it. Delighted you got to enjoy the food and we hope to see you again soon.

The winery is set in beautiful grounds with a nice view over the vines. We went to one of the twilight concert dinners. The Velvet Playboy's may be "rooted in the jazz, rhythm & blues music of the 40s and 50s", but that's not what they played. Almost all was rock, with driving bass and Adam Hall shouting at the mike. The music of the artists mentioned on the advertising blurb were not featured. The sound was loud, but poor quality and in the restaurant we couldn't decipher the words. We were not the only ones to leave early. Before ordering a bottle of wine I went into the cellar door and asked to taste before choosing. Sorry, no tasting, buy a bottle, they are all good. That's ridiculous at a winery attached to a restaurant. At $45 to $60 they should be very, very good. The bottle of shiraz / grenache I had was warm and poor quality for the money. In all, a memorable experience I am unlikely to repeat.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know your thoughts about Saturday's concert. Here is an edit as Adam Hall has contacted us upon seeing your review. " I can certainly guarantee that we played all of the artists stated"- Adam Hall Adam also offers you are more than welcome to contact him if you would like to know more about the set list and artists featured. Perhaps you missed some if you left early? I used the information that Adam Hall sent through to me for promotion, and I know that they won a Fringe Award for their new show, so maybe that was why they played some of that music. However I will pass your comments onto the band. We would love you to be able to taste our wines, but when everyone is arriving for a concert, it would really slow down wine service. Our Cellar Door is open from 11-5pm everyday, but for the four concerts we just can't offer a tasting when everyone arrives. I thank you again for your feedback and if you'd like to contact me directly would be delighted to discuss it further

We spent two nights in the Spa Cottage on the vineyard property. It is a lovely old house with period features, but is clean and well looked after.
There is a lovely outlook onto the vineyards from inside the house, and you can also relax on the veranda and enjoy the views whilst having a glass of wine!
It is also situated very close to Bells Rapids and many other attractions.

We stayed 2 nights at the Cottage which was an absolute delight and great base to explore the Swan Valley. Sitting on the back porch watching the sun set over the vineyard, with a glass of wine in hand, is a wonderful treat. Laura and her team made sure everything went smoothly.

Thank you so much Stephen for the wonderful review. I agree the view from the porch watching the sun set over the vineyard is beautiful and even better with a glass of wine.

Lovely birthday celebration for my Mum. We arrived early to do some wine tasting and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. As we had a table booked at the restaurant, the tasting was free. We were then greeted at the restaurant by more friendly staff who were very patient with us as we took our time selecting from the menu. The food was delicious and well presented - highly recommend the lamp parcel. The restaurant also offers a pizza area which is located in the garden, along with a wood fire and plenty of room for the kids to run around. A lovely day out and I can't wait to return.

We attended as a group of 8 persons and although the wine offering was nice, the food was disappointing. The wait staff were very young and appeared inexperienced so that is something the management need to look at. Some of our group rated their meal well but the majority of opinion was that it was underwhelming. With so many meal / drink options in the Swan Valley I doubt whether I will return here.

I stayed at the winery cottage. It was one of the best cottage experience. Amazing amenities, near the exit road, and there’s even mulberry trees beside. They also put wine in the cottage for our convenience and they trust us to transact after our stay.

We live North of Perth and although I would have loved to attend the 101 Wine Education Class but it is simply not practical (I refuse to spit out good wine, lol, and driving home for 2 hours after a tasting will not be sensible).
So, today I attended the Chardonnay "virtual tasting" with Stephen and loved it. I had both a wooded and unwooded Chardie from Upper Reach but different vintages to those discussed. It did not matter AND I did not have to spit. ;) This way of doing things definitely ticks all the boxes for me and I really hope we can keep doing it even post-Corona. Well done on thinking outside the box!

Had a great tasting of Upper Reach's excellent wines. Most wines are grown in the Swan Valley and have a recognisable provenance. The light white wines are terrific for a hot summer day but the verdeho is exceptional with a cheese board which we consumed on the shady outdoor deck. It was a brilliant experience with our Eastern states visitors who agreed it was one of the most pleasant vineyards they had visited.
