We took a day trip to Bihac from Zadar, we saw Ostrazac was around 10km North of Bihac and so drove there. The castle is on a peak on the side of the incredibly beautiful Una Valley. The castle cost 2Marks each to get in...More

We have visited Ostrožac Castle several times. We've walked around the fortress, climbed on the walls, and used our cellphone flashlights to explore the lower levels. Each time the castle fires my imagination. Yes, it is falling apart, and quite honestly, it would not be...More

We were at Plitvice Lakes in Croatia and had a day more to explore the nearby regions. Took a taxi to visit these ruins of the castle. The grounds are well kept but the castle is very badly damaged, which is part of the charm....More

A short drive north of Bihac, situated with a wonderful view down into the valley you will find this gem. It is definitely worth a visit and like most places in Bosnia not very well maintained from a tourist attraction perspective, but all that adds...More

According to my guidebook, the building originally dates from the Middle Ages, notably the massive defensive tower through which you enter the castle. The defensive ramparts date from the Ottoman period. The decaying buildings are more recent still (c.1900) and owe their origin to the...More

Although a bit difficult to find due to poor cell service for navigating, it was well worth the trip. The decaying grandeur of the building was beautiful and the setting was fitting. This castle sits high on a hill with the river Una running below...More

This Gothic castle would not be out of place in Transylvania - though there is not Count Dracula in Bosnia. Built by the former mayor of Brcko and Bihac Lothar von Berks and his wife isabella at the end of 19th century, now unfortunately in...More

The fortification is impressive, constructed on a hill.It must have given good protection to the defenders.Big walls, turrets. The rooms must have been nice, but the interior is totally devastated.I was told it is an inheritance dispute going on that is why it looks abandoned. What a pity.

The fort itself is strange, its an amazing building, but the main parts are in disrepair and full of graffitti. We arrived to be chased by a man on a bike who charged us 2 BCM each. When entering the fort, there are lots of...More
