First, look for the eagles nesting in the towers - impressive! A beautiful Arab fortress built on the remains of a Roman fortress. This area of Soria was the frontier between Arab and Christian forces during the 11th century, so this was the largest fortification...More

We couldn't find this on the map so just headed for Gormaz - we shouldn't have worried as you can't miss it. It's well worth the detour though as it's a very imposing castle on top of the hill with some fabulous views.

We could see the castle from far away as we drove toward it...just impressive. Once there, it was great walking around and taking photos of the castle and the landscape beyond. Can't miss this if you're in Soria!
