I visited this place in September 2019, it was very quiet. Like feeling this waterfall is only ours, the place is very natural color of the river water is still green and still natural, access from the city is quite far because it has entered the Gunung Kidul district area, but the distance is not a problem because we use transportation services from the Java Private Tour who is very familiar with the whole area of Yogyakarta. For the entry ticket is very reasonable (including parking + cave tours), if you want to go to the waterfall then you have to go down the path that goes down and walk to the right around 300m, but if you want to be fast you can ride the boat that has been provided, the boat fare is very cheap (2 way) public facilities such as toilets and canteens. inlet and exit paths are all distinguished enough there are very clear instructions sign board.

It’s such a waste to go here and not try the option to swim in the river. You pay IDR 30,000 per person and they lend you lifevests and a guide (who doubles as your photographer). There’s a place you can jump off of and you can try getting blasted under the waterfall which is a pretty fun experience too! Wouldn’t recommend wearing bikinis because this isn’t Bali but camisole and swim shorts is fine.

A serene and unique place to be, with crystal clear waters. The place may be small and timing is crucial as you don’t want to bumped into a huge group of people. One may catch multiple rainbows within the waterfall area too.

The Sri Gethuk Waterfall has a good access and facilities are good and still developing by local authority. After get wet people can try a traditional local food named "tiwul wader smabel ijo" it is made from casava rice served with fried fish and green chilies. You should try it.
