very disappointed that the place was closed on the long Hari Raya weekend.
it was also closed during the MCO.
Having been here a few months ago, this is one of the prettiest waterfalls in Malaysia.
That said, beware during rainy seasons as a number of drownings had occured due to whirlpool and flash flood gushing down to sweep swimmers to the grave undercurrents.
Suggest the auth be more responsive and advise visitors of closures.

Beautiful falls to view and have a quick dip. The area needs a serious upgrade to make it more accessible for families. In particular better areas for picnics and changing. Access fee is cheap but wouldn't mind paying more for better facilities. Take food and drink in as there are no kiosks there.

Visited this morning, not so crowded could be due to Covid-19. Good spot that closes to the city to spend half a day for fresh air. The waterfall is quite stunning this morning as the water volume is huge might be due to raining for the past few days.

An additional attraction stop if you are near Bentong or KL as there are better falls elsewhere.
Pros: 1) 30 mins from Bentong
2) 1 hr from KL
3) an additional attraction to add variety and to fill your itinerary when visiting Bentong
4) a very short walk from car park so good for physically challenge people
5)No need to trek to waterfall for view
6) Link Bridge to cross over
Cons:
1)do not go when it is raining or day before as too dangerous
2)go early morning or late afternoon as the its hot with benches under the sun
3)toilet facility basic and early morning visit is the best while its just clean
4)dont see any food hawker in the early morning so better packed or fill your tummy first
5)BBQ pit sited along the along which is not environmental friendly

A mere 15mins drive from Bentong town, Chamang Falls is also conveniently located such that we didn't need to trek to get to the waterfall.
The car park is literally next to it. There are also lots of tables and chairs for picnics.
The water is cool and clean, the waterfall is very strong. There have been reported deaths, so do keep an eye out especially on your little ones.
The public toilet is very dirty, so if not entirely necessary do hold on until a cleaner rest stop.
The visitors should take good care of this nature preserve. Please throw your rubbish into the provided bins.

The waterfall is about 8 km drive from Bentong town. The road there is winding, so do drive carefully when going.
The waterfall is temporary close to at the moment. This is due to the dangerous waterfall during the rainy season. The place is close from 1/12/2016 until 31/1/2017.
Do take note.

This waterfall is not a big place. It has become famous for several fatal drowning cases every year, mostly involving outsiders. Visitors must beware of the signboard & the place it warns people not to go to. Quite many people had ignored the warning to their peril/death. That place is claimed to have a whirlpool pulling you downward that will cause you drown.

Chamang falls is one of the biggest (natural) waterfall I have seen (yet). We (4 adults and 3 kids) went there on an afternoon excursion. As instructed by many reviews I had read we passed the first car park and went to the second car park which is right at the waterfalls. You really don't see the waterfalls until the very last second and its revealed to you as an awesome breathtaking surprise. Btw, we went there on a weekday so there weren't any crowds and plenty of available parking. A guy at the entrance of the parking charged RM 2 per adult and RM 1 per kid for entry.
There is a tiny beach near the parking lot (great for sand play) and a shallow area across the suspension bridge (great for a dip for kids). The current wasn't that strong and adults can easily cross from side to side. BE WARNED: to check currents before attempting to cross as it may vary due to rain further up the river, also people are warned not to hang around the cascade rocks as there might be a flash flood.
We spent almost the whole afternoon at the falls and the kids had a great time. Us parents were pretty relaxed as well.
There are picnic areas available if you want to do a BBQ (which is not a bad idea after a cold swim). An easier and fuss free idea is to take some hot water in a flask and some cup noodles so that you can eat it at the falls. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR OWN THRASH AFTERWARDS.
And one more thing, the changing rooms are closed by 5 pm, but you can always use the toilets to change (a bit dirty but does the job).

visited this place on 9th december 2012,as earlier on there was a landslide and me and hubby couldn't access this place. From Bentong town its close to another 30 mins drive,as the road is winding and gets narrow towards the end, watchout for oncoming cars that are driven by reckless idiots who don't even have the courtesy to stop!!
Overall the waterfalls was impressive with the suspension bridge, though i would have preffered a safer bridge,if you aren't careful and if somebody rocks or the bridge sways your foot could slip and get stuck between the fence and wooden deck! definitely not a place for kids.
All over the place you can see danger signs of sudden gush of waters!! a warning sign for leptospirosis!! and nobody paid any heed or took any precaution to what was written.Leptospirosis can kill and is quite rampant and known to infect stagnant pool and rivers,so kids and adults should take caution at all times!!However nobody took any caution or paid any heed to the warnings, kids below five were seen having a good dip there.
The water though appearing crystal clear, did look greenish from the rocks above and by observing ,the gush of water suddenly become more and more,as there may have been a storm somewhere upstream.Even this was ignored while those of us above noted it,that the water level was increasing. At the end of the day we left, not much to be done if you're worried of contracting waterborne diseases or worried about taking a dip at the waterfalls. This place is worth visiting, though it can be dangerous at times and a health hazard for kids and adults.

Hi
We are planning to visit Chamang waterfall . I was wondering if there is a place to make our Barbecue near waterfall or close to Genting Highland ?
Written August 21, 2018
Sorry I do not know if this place is allowed to BBQ.
Written August 22, 2018
How distant it is from the car cable station
Can i go there by walking or by uber?
Written April 24, 2018
I think you are referring to Genting cable car. It is quite a distant from there. Maybe about additional 45 minutes drive. Might have trouble getting Uber for return trip.

Is bentong enough to visit for one day or do I need few more days to cover the whole of it?
Written September 2, 2017
It should depend on how you plan your trip. If you are not too hungry, you can go to the hot spring first. Reason is the road coming in/going out of Bentong is between the hot spring and to Bentong town.
If you go to the hot spring first, then you need not have to go past the entry/exit road when you visit the hot spring last.
If you are hungry when you getting into Bentong, then, definitely you would go hunt for something to eat in town. Most of the eateries/restaurants are located in town, anyway.
After that, better to go to Chamang waterfall, as it is the other end, as in the opposite end of the hot spring.

Can go to the waterfall by ourself or need a tour guide to guide us there? how long is the walking distance? thank you.
Written October 16, 2016
We used our own transport to reach the waterfall. The waterfall located 10 km after the Bentong signboard from the main road. Its easily accessible with car just take left from the Bentong signboard and no tour guide requred.
