Having just ordered new Jaguar XE, I saw on the Jaguar website that it was possible to have a tour of the manufacturing facility. As an engineer from the aerospace industry I was eager to book this tour for myself and my wife to see a true 'production' facility. We chose the PM tour as we needed to travel from North Somerset.
When we arrived, we were met by a member of the tour team and he guided us through the registration and we were then taken to a lounge area for a cup of coffee and biscuits.
We were very fortunate that there were only 6 of us on our tour so it seemed more personal. As part of the H&S requirements it was necessary to wear high vis vests and ear plugs were required in the sheet metal shop but this is all provided. We each had a headset supplied so that we could always hear the commentary of the guide.
The tour itself included a walk through the sheet metal pressing facility and then on to the assembly facility for the F Type.
I found the whole tour absolutely fascinating and most informative and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide was Austin, who had worked in the facility for some 35 years so was of course very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable.
It was excellent to get really up close to the cars and quite fascinating to watch the robots in action.
I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be impressed by these facilities and the processes that are in place to produce such beautiful cars and therefore I can thoroughly recommend a visit.

Five Star tour of Jaguar Castle Bromwich today. Booked on the 1pm factory tour expecting a couple of hours, over three hours and a couple of miles walking later you realise why Jaguars are renowned and loved worldwide.

Greeted with coffee and biscuits by our tour guide Graham and hospitality Hayley.

Graham joined Jaguar Cars under Sir William Lyons in 1968 as a school leaver, and his 54 yr long love of the factory, and deep understanding of the marque soon became apparent.

The tour uses wireless headsets connected to Grahams microphone so you can clearly hear all comments regardless of the factory noise

We were encouraged to ask questions as we toured the press shop and the live assembly lines for the iconic F-type, followed by a tour of the wartime hospital cellars

The production process is so finely honed with Just in Time deliveries and quality inspection at every point, that the chance of a sub standard vehicle is minuscule

As a Jaguar owner for over 30yrs (and eight Jaguars), this insightful and detailed tour exceeded all expectations and represents excellent value, and confirms and reinforces my confidence in Jaguar Cars

Thank you Graham for an excellent and informative tour

I bought a tour voucher for my husband for Christmas and as he probably wouldn’t want to go on his own I bought one for me too. And I’m so glad I did - I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Very interesting, informative and great to see both robots and real people working on these cars. One suggestion - could you do a separate voucher for two? I had to buy two separate vouchers and as I didn’t need two presentation packs (at extra cost) I ended up buying one and printing off the other. It would have been much better if we could have had one pack with either two vouchers or one voucher covering two people.

The automated production line where the bodyshells are created is a highlight. Seeing the robots synchronised forming the body of the car was impressive and so accurate. Following the cars through the more manual parts of the process was a great insight to the skills required.
This tour is a 'must' for anyone with an interest in cars and the automotive industry - and was an eye opener for my teenaged son to see the wide range of skills and careers involved in car production.
Our tour guide Matt was very informative and happily answered our questions. We were lucky to be on a small tour of only 4 guests, so it was interactive and inclusive. Also enjoyed being driven around the plant in a new iPace.
The whole experience was fascinating and would very happily do it all again.

Great tour of a premium marque modern car factory.
A must for anyone with an interest in the automobile industry.
Also loved hearing about the history of the plant.
It was the largest purpose built aircraft factory of World War II producing the iconic Vickers Supermarine Spitfire Fighter and the Avro Lancaster Bomber.

Matt was a great host and I would recommend this to anyone.

Fascinating tour learning about the history of the site, and Jaguar Landrover as a company, and seeing production all the way from when the metal comes off the roll, pressed out, through to watching the production line from where the floor pan is put together, doors & bonnet go on, brakes, wiring loom etc all the way to paint shop and seeing the cars come off the line and the engine turning on for the first time.

Time flew by as Matt talked us through everything, and was happy to answer any questions as we went, and John swooshed us around between buildings in a lovely electric i-pace.

This was a real treat of a visit and whilst we learned a lot, it wasn’t heavy on the education and it wasn’t dull for even a moment.

Fingers crossed for my premium bonds to come up - I’d love to be able to see my own car roll off the line!

This is a well organised and very informative tour. Dave the tour guide is very knowledgable and what he knows goes above and beyond the normal. He tells the exact story of Jaguar cars from the very begining, and on the tour there are some facinating things to see(not necesarily car related). I won't divulge because it would spoil it for others. This tour is packed with information, I recomend it.

This was bought for hubby as a gift and definitely worth a visit. The greeting from every member of staff was warm and welcoming. Refreshments were offered. After a quick safety briefing we were taken on our tour by Luke. Luke was a mine of information and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience. We have done previous factory tours but this was by far the best. Well worth the journey. We stayed locally overnight and were glad we had as the traffic to the venue was quite busy so bear this in mind.

I was lucky enough to spend half a day with the team at Castle Bromwich recently.
I have to say it was a fantastic experience with a knowledgable guide ( David ) and a really comprehensive factory tour. It was amazing to see the skill and meticulous care taken over building a car these days. The history of the site is also really interesting as it was the biggest production site for the Spitfire Fighter in the 2nd WW.
Well worth a visit.

It was all fabulous. The interesting and knowledgeable guide (Dave?) gave us an excellent three hour tour. We leanrt of the history. and saw the presses and the production line right up to a car being driven for the first time. Fascinating.
