    Relax there
It's a beautiful spot by itself for relaxing and swimming in safe, still waters, notwithstanding that it is touristy and commercial. The main reason to visit is for the small boat ride through the tunnel, out into the open sea. Unfortunately, on the day we visited the sea was too rough, so the boat ride wasn't operating. I could imagine though that it would be an interesting little journey - and it is cheap. There's also some nice walks for views over the coast.

    Great boat trip
We were lucky as the sea was calm enough for a boat ride. The water is incredibly blue, you can see a long way down. Going through the cave was a bit tight, fortunately we made it both ways without getting wet. They only take cash, and they warn you off before going and you pay before you get back to the jetty.

While everyone else walked towards where the Azure Window used to be, I went alone to the Inland Sea. It's a beautiful and quiet area with colored bay doors where (I think) fishing boats are kept. I saw many people practicing with their SCUBA gear, and this is apparently a famous place for beginner and novice divers. There's also a small bar (the name of which, for the life of me, I cannot remember) with nice people. I had a quick beer there while just enjoying the view around me. I could live on Gozo....

Stoped here for a swim on our full day quad bike tour of Gozo. Lovely safe shallow bay for swimming which is separated from the main sea by a dramatic rock formation. Not a great deal of places for a snack or cold drink, especially at busy times and very limited places to change as there are only loos in the couple of restaurants.
Well worth a visit if on Gozo.

This is such a beautiful spot! You can get a boat and go inside the caves. Just do not make it so late, specially during off season, as the place will be under shade at 4.30/5.

The inland sea itself is quite small but definitely worth a trip. Snorkeling in this part is a tad cloudy but still some fish to see. Missed out on snorkeling in the 'blue grotto' so do head there if you get the chance, (looked amazing from the boat!). Talking of boats, do take the trip through the tunnel for 4 euros (per person). I know it's only 10 mins but 4 euros well spent and must've been amazing when the azure window was still standing. You could spend 30 mins here or a few hours, dependent on your sunbathing or diving skills. Plenty of refreshments available and publuc toilets also open. Recommended trip out in Gozo.

We went there multiple times but none of them we used the boat trip. I don't realy suggest that you take the trip as it is still beutiful and even more so if you swim past the cave.

We took the small boat trip which took us from the inland sea through the natural rock "gate" on to the sea. It's about 15 minutes trip along the coast visiting some caves, place where the Azure window used to be before it collapsed. Well worth the visit and well spent 4 euros for the trip.

We hired a car in Malta for a day, with the sole purpose of going to Gozo, and packing in and seeing as much as we possibly could in the day.
We made San Lawrenz our first port of call after arriving in Gozo by ferry, and commenced our own tour by starting with a visit to the Inland Sea.
What a beautiful spot.
The area was quite busy during our visit.
Soon after arriving we realised that it was possible to take a boat trip round the caves, surrounding area, and to see Gozo's Blue Grotto.
At only 4 euros per person this was too good an opportunity to pass by, so we made the trip. It is small boats which are used, they only hold around 10 people, and because of this it somehow gave the tour a more personal feel. The boat trip lasted approximately 20 minutes.
An enjoyable boat trip, and a very scenic area.
Definitely worth a visit if you can fit it into your itinerary.
The Blue Hole/Azure Window are in the same location.

Inland Sea is a little misleading as this stretch of water is only the size of a small lake. But it is a notable landmark and we were surprised how knowledgeable the local boatman were during a short 15 minute ride through the cave entrance seaward. This is very cheap (a few Euros each) and enhances the visit.

This was a delightful spot with hillocks to one side; green fields to another with the rock formation to another. All was very quiet here as the fishermen and the boat men sat in waiting for us guests. The boat houses are very simple yet they come alive with the magnificent bright colours on their doors that distinguish one from the other.
Boat rides are available at 4 euro return for 15 minutes. This was a delightful experience as we were ferried through the caves and taken out on to the ocean where we were introduced to the fungus rock as well as many more. Our man at the helm had discreet English and was patient with many questions. If you get to the Inland sea do not leave without this lovely experience
