Me and my wife went to the Popeye Village, even thinking that it may have been closed, due to the weather and visit in November. As soon as we arrived, via car, we stopped immediately to see the amazing bay with crystal clear water and the layout of the houses, which indeed form a picturesque sighting. Inside, it was nice... Because of the windy weather boating was not permitted but other than that I think was good. The kids were happy but honestly a bit too quiet all over the village and not too many things going on. We did got exiting about the movie making, they invite you to participate in filming a Popeye movie with you in it... More

I got excited from the moment I saw the buildings...I was expecting a town...lived in and quiet. What I got was very opposite. I was staying in Sliema and took an hour bus to then walk a nice walk for twenty minutes (there is a bus that goes direct there) I then saw the houses...got excited and realised I just... More

As soon as I found out that we were staying only 2.6 miles away from the village I knew we had to visit. Popeye was a favourite film of mine growing up and it's lovely to see that the old film set is still intact as I had heard it was in disrepair before visiting. The family got involved in... More

So we arrived after a long bus journey, not know what to expect. But, wow, we wandering to the edge of the cliff to find amazing views over the blue bay and this beautiful colourful little village built into the side of the bay, it's spectacular!! After taking lots of pictures, we ventured in and got out tickets. 10 euros... More

Came here with our two kids aged 7 and 3 and all four of us had fun. It is the setting for the Movie Popeye which featured Robin Williams. To enter you must proceed down a very steep slope so beware for anyone with walking difficulties. When we entered there are workers dressed up as characters in Popeye and they... More

If you loved the 1980 movie Popeye then Popeye Village is worth a quick visit. Keep in mind, it's completely out of the way and definitely not an all day affair. We flew into Malta, checked into our hotel, hired a taxi, and spent about an hour trooping around the set. The taxi was €30 each way, but you can... More
